Why These Maps are Missing in Overwatch 2

The Assault Mode has Been Removed

The Assault Mode is no longer a playable game mode in Overwatch 2. As a result, the 5 Assault mode maps are currently out of rotation. It is very likely however that they will be repurposed and re-introduced, perhaps to another mode, in the future. This is especially likely considering in Blizzard's recent Known Issues report, Temple of Anubis is specifically stated to be currently disabled while they work on bugs within the map.
All New Features and Changes: New Modes, Maps, and Heroes

Not in Rotation, However Still Available for Custom Games

Custom Game Menu Overwatch 2
The 2 Escort maps which are currently unavailable, Havana and Rio, as well as the Hybrid map, Blizzard World, are still playable through custom games. This means it is still possible to play on these stages with friends, however competitve play is currently not possible.

Presently Working on Bugs, But Should be Back in the Future!

Numbani, Necropolis, Illios CTF, and Temple of Anubis are disabled due to bugs affecting these maps. Once the bugs have been worked through they should be playable once more.
