Kiriko is now playable in Competitive Mode in Overwatch 2. Read on for more details including why she was not available previously, as well as tips on how to play Kiriko.

Kiriko Now Playable in Competitive
On October 18, 2022, Blizzard announced through their official Twitter that Kiriko has been added to the competitive game modes. This is sure to shake up the competitive balance as Kiriko is not only a great support option with decent healing abilities, but also has excellent damage output for players who are skillful enough to hit consistent head shots.
Competitive Mode Guide # Why Kiriko Was Not Available Before
As Kiriko is a new hero in Overwatch 2, the developers likely wanted to allow enough time for everybody to unlock her. In addition to this, they were able to collect player data from unranked battles, which likely proved useful in their decision making process for making any necessary adjustments before adding Kiriko to competitive.
How to Level Up Battle Pass Fast
Kiriko unlocks instantly after buying the Battle Pass or for free at Tier 55.

We recommend disabling Toggle Healing Ofuda, as doing so makes it easier to use and control the ability. You can find this option in the Options menu under the Hero tab of Kiriko's Controls page.
### Swift Step Can Teleport Through WallsNote that Kiriko's Swift Step allows her to teleport through walls. Take advantage of his feature to have an easier time reaching teammates in need and escaping from difficult situations.
### Protection Suzu Can Nullify Enemy UltimatesWhile Protection Suzu works well for cleansing debuffs and saving low-health allies, you can also use it to completely negate the damage from lethal enemy ultimates. Use Protection Suzu to negate deadly ultimates like Cassidy's Deadeye and Doomfist's Meteor Strike.
