How to Use Battle Arts

Equip Arts in Equipment Menu

Dynasty Warriors Origins - Equipping Arts

Before you can use a specific Art, you first need to equip it in the Equipment menu under Arts, which is found in the Battle Preparation menu.

You can equip up to four Arts each time, which can be activated with the button input assigned to the specific Art.

Do note that you can also change any equipped Art even in the middle of a battle, just like you can change any weapon mid-fight.

Use with Assigned Button Combo

Dynasty Warriors Origins - Arts Button Input

To use an Art, simply input the required button combo to execute the move.

You can keep using Arts in succession as long as you still have the required amount of Bravery.

What are Battle Arts?

Special Moves that Use Bravery

Dynasty Warriors Origins - Special Moves

Arts, or Battle Arts, are equippable special moves with various effects and use up Bravery. These effects range from dealing damage or allowing the Wanderer to use quick and agile dodges.

Most Arts have a weapon requirement for them to be equipped and used in battle, but a few can be equipped regardless of the weapon you are using.

Use Special Arts Against Orange Attacks

Dynasty Warriors Origins - Use Special Arts

You can use Arts labelled with Special to counter attacks with an orange glow, which will deplete an enemy's Fortitude meter. Once fully depleted, you will be able to stagger the enemy and launch a devastating counterattack.

Do note that attacks with a red glow cannot be stopped by any Art, and must be avoided by dodging or moving away from your opponent.
