How to Parry in Dynasty Warriors: Origins

Perfectly Block Attacks (Right Before Hit Contact)

To perform a parry, time your block perfectly by pressing the L1 or LB Button on your controller (Shift Key on PC) immediately before the enemy's weapon swing makes contact with your body. There is a white flash that signals an attack can be parried, but don't block immediately with the white flash, as with some enemies, this could be too early.

A successful Parry will stagger your opponent, leaving them open to a flurry of follow-up attacks.

You can block any attack by holding the L1 OR LB Button on your controller. You can block attacks at any time without initiating parries by holding down the button earlier than when an attack might hit you.

Do note that blocking attacks in Hero Difficulty will cost Bravery, which may force you into a more offensive approach.
