Battle Against Dong Zhuo's Forces

You'll go up against Dong Zhuo's Forces for this mission as part of the Expeditionary Forces, along with companions from Wei.

Victory Condition: Defeat Dong Zhuo

Defeat Dong Zhuo to successfully complete this battle.

Defeat Condition: Yuan Shao Flees

You will lose this battle if Yuan Shao is forced to flee. Make sure not to take too long in defeating Dong Zhuo!

The Battle of Hulao Gate is unlocked immediately after completing the Battle of Sishui Gate.

Repel Zhang Liao's Assault Engage Jia Xu's Large Force Survive Against Lu Bu Defeat Dong Zhuo

Repel Zhang Liao's Assault

Help out your allies at A site against Zhang Liao who is mounting an assault west of your main camp.

He poses an immediate threat to Yuan Shao so prioritize taking him out so you can freely capture enemy bases.

Engage Jia Xu's Large Force

Once you've secured your side of the map, head to Hulao Gate in the middle and engage Jia Xu's large force in combat.

Depending on which way you take to get there, you'll be able to join allies who will charge towards Jia Xu's large force.

Survive Against Lu Bu

Once you've routed Jia Xu's large force, Lu Bu will advance to your location. Lu Bu is extremely strong so focus on surviving instead trying to take him down.

Dong Zhuo will eventually order him to head straight for Yuan Shao and then leave the area. Instead of pursuing Lu Bu, proceed inside Hulao Gate and find Dong Zhuo.

Defeating Lu Bu Is Optional

You do not need to defeat Lu Bu to complete this battle. Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei will try to prevent him from reaching Yuan Shao. This is your chance to defeat Dong Zhuo and his large force as soon as possible.

If you decide to try and defeat Lu Bu, you'll get the achievement "The Strongest" if you succeed.

Trophy Guide and List of Achievements

Defeat Dong Zhuo

Enter enemy territory and confront Dong Zhuo's large force. Hop over the greatshield soldiers and attack them from behind to quickly dispatch them.

Once the large force is eliminated, Dong Zhuo himself will show up. Defeat him before Lu Bu can get to Yuan Shao to complete the mission.

Prevent the Torrential Inferno

When you make contact with Dong Zhuo's large force, the enemy will prepare to unleash Torrential Inferno, a massive fire attack that will severely cripple your army.

You only need to destroy two catapults to prevent it. Cut down enemies along the way as you make your way towards them.
