Ji Ling guards the headquarters of Yuan Shu. Defeat Ji Ling to be able to reach Yuan Shu and achieve victory.
This mission ends in a loss if Liu Bei is forced to flee. The enemy will try to move in on Liu Bei from various fronts. Intercept the enemy advance where you can to keep Liu Bei safe and avoid defeat.

This is the 1st mission of Chapter 4 if you decided to go down the Shu route back in Chapter 3.

When the battle begins, Liu Bei will emphasize the importance of holding the middle ground. March with your allies and engage the enemy officers at the center of the map.

Outnumbering your forces, the enemy will attempt to overwhelm Liu Bei through sheer force. They will send troops along the Northern and Southern paths. It's recommended to go after the two squads that are near each other on the Southern-half of the map.

By this point, you should have already engaged Ji Ling and his men. Before you can defeat him, enemy reinforcements will appear, attempting to again focus on Liu Bei. Stick to finishing off enemies where you are and focus on taking down Ji Ling.

Ji Ling shares some moves with Zhang Liao, as well as wields the Twin Pikes weapon. Avoiding his AoE attacks, you should be able to quickly take him down with Parries and powerful Battle Arts.

After defeating Ji Ling, Victory conditions will change. To complete the mission, you now have to defeat the newly-arrived Yuan Shu, which shouldn't be too hard.
Weapon Proficiency will be rewarded based on the weapon/s used in battle. Ranking up weapon proficiency raises Wanderer's level, and reaching certain levels will unlock new skill trees to spend skill points on.
Skill points and Mount EXP are also awarded based on the number of enemies defeated and which Horse was used.
These rewards vary greatly depending on the Wanderer's performance during battle.
