How to Use Spear

Offers Great Range with Simple Inputs

The Spear is like the sword when it comes to utility and ease of controls, along with the fact that it offers around 3x the reach. Stringing together normal and strong attacks will draw-in and hit multiple enemies, allowing you to quickly deplete enemy numbers.

Use Strong Attacks to Deplete Enemy Fortitude

The Spear allows you to more easily duel Enemy Officers because of the fact that its strong attacks allow you to safely chunk their Fortitude. You can string up to 3 charge attacks in succession, however do note that these are slower than normal attacks.

Dodge While Performing Strong Attacks

Performing a dodge with a Spear equipped will also execute a thrusting attack, allowing you to chain combos in while evading.

Spear Recommended Combos

Charged Sweep

Input Description
Hold PS5 - Triangle Button during a PS5 - Square Button normal attack
Hold XBOX - Y Button during a XBOX - X Button normal attack
Hold Right Click during a Left Click normal attack
 Charge up to unleash a massive sweep around you.

This is a highly versatile attack that you can attack-cancel into from any attack within a regular attack string. If you need breathing room or to quickly clear an area of small-fries, use this.

Knock-Up Input

Input Description
PS4 - L1 Button + PS5 - Triangle Button
XBOX - Left Bumper + XBOX - Y Button
Shift + Right Click
 Strike the ground with the butt of your weapon, generating a shockwave that launches enemies into the air.

With the name, this is a great follow-up attack to use against staggered enemies as it will allow you to launch them and go into possible aerial juggles.

Triple Heavy Attack

Combo flowingly into a flurry of thrusts.

This is the Spear's Fortitude shredder. Note that the initial wind-up might be slow, so only use either after a parry or after a knockdown.

Best Combos to Use

Spear Arts

Arts Bravery Req. Effect
(Sp.) Aerial Assault (Sp.) Aerial Assault 3 Jump backward and launch a shockwave.
Sp. Effect:
Able to stop certain attacks and stagger the enemy.
Dance of the Whirlwind Dance of the Whirlwind 5 Swing your spear to generate a whirlwind around you. Enemies within a large area will be gradually pulled in and damaged.
Dragon Flash Dragon Flash 8 Launch a shockwave with a powerful thrust, sending enemies within a large area in front of you flying.
Earth Shatter Earth Shatter 6 Use your spear to pierce the earth, infusing it with your Bravery and causing an explosion. Sends enemies within a large area flying.
Flying Dragon Rend Flying Dragon Rend 3 Lunge forward while spinning, catching any enemies in your wake and sending them flying. After the attack, you will remain in the air.
Piercing Vengeance Piercing Vengeance 1 Take a parrying stance. If attacked while in this stance, you will perform a swift counterstrike.
Rising Dragon Vortex Rising Dragon Vortex 3 Jump up while spinning, thrusting upwards with your spear. Strengthens any follow-up aerial attacks. Can also be performed in midair.
Savage Thrust Barrage Savage Thrust Barrage 4 Repeatedly thrust your weapon forward in a concentrated manner to form a powerful attack.
Spree of Devastation Spree of Devastation 2 Perform a sweeping attack with your spear, sending surrounding enemies flying.
Wild Rush Wild Rush 2 Thrust your spear while charging forward. When performed in midair, you will rush toward the ground.
