Gems are items that can be equipped on weapons to give the protagonist bonus effects during battles, such as damage boost, HP recovery, and a chance to automatically block an attack.
Gems can be crafted in the Create Gems screen when visiting an Inn on the World Map. There are only five (5) possible types of gems that can be created.

 Ascendance Gem |
Activates a percentage chance to automatically block an attack from an enemy officer. |
 Oblivion Gem |
Expands attack range by a certain percentage. |
 Scorch Gem |
Boosts damage dealt to enemies with parries by a certain percentage. |
 Vortex Gem |
Boosts damage to enemies launched into the air by a certain percentage. |
 Wellspring Gem |
Restores a small amount of health for every 100 enemies defeated. |
As shown above, the max gem level possible for Dynasty Warriors: Origins is level 30.
One way to obtain gems is by crafting them. Players need to visit an Inn on the World Map, then select the Create Gems option to start crafting gems. They need pyroxene in order to exchange them for gems.
Getting gems a player already has will level up that specific gem. After exchanging pyroxene for gems, duplicate gems will increase the currently available gem in a player's inventory.
The only way to equip gems is through the Battle Preparation under the Equipment tab. Once on the Equipment tab, simply select the Gems slot, then choose a gem from the available selection.
