How to Use Podao

Utilize Powerful Charged Attacks

The Podao is perhaps the best weapon when it comes to charging attacks. The Podao's special quirk is that it allows you to perform 2-Staged Charge Attacks, increasing in both damage and range the higher the charge level.

It's actually recommended to often use the 2nd charge level, especially when needing to quickly defeat numerous enemies.

Maintain High Mobility While Charging

Charging the Podao does not limit you to just standing in place. Without any noticeable dip in movement, you can move around and reposition before unleashing a max charged attack, which makes up for the relatively slower attack speed.

Improving your proficiency with a Podao will even allow you to perform a dash while charging, adding even more mobility.

Gain Plenty of Crowd Control with Battle Arts

The Podao's weapon mechanics make it great for fighting large waves of enemies or frequently staggering enemy officers. Almost all of the Podao's arts give you some form of crowd control or provides you with an ability to zone enemies.

This is the Podao's signature combo. It hits like a train during the final hit, but is also slow to execute.

Normal into Charged Heavy Attack

Input	Description
Hold during a normal attack Hold during a normal attack Hold during a normal attack	[Charge] Changes to a single slash. A sweeping area over a large area.

A safer, and quicker, combo to often use is to end your regular normal attack strings with a charged heavy attack, which unleashes a decently-ranged and damaging slash.

(Sp.) Sea of Flames	3	Use your blade to generate flames through friction and then burn everything in front of you. Sp. Effect: Able to stop certain attacks and stagger the enemy.
Ardent Aura Slash	7	Infuse your Bravery into your poado and then unleash it. Charging the attack will increase its strength and range.
Blade Typhoon	4	Deliver a powerful slash with your podao, generating a number of energy flares which strike enemies.
Bounding Earth Strike	3	Step on an enemy to jump up and then slam your podao against the ground. The resulting shockwave will send enemies flying.
Burgeoning Devastation	3	Move forward while making a sweeping attack with your podao. Continuing to press the button enables repeated attacks by using Bravery. The final strike will also be strengthened.
Dragon Sweep Slash	2	Perform a spin kick to launch enemies into the air and follow up with a podao slash. Will enable you to catch large swathes of enemies in your wake.
Fierce Focus	2	Concentrate your Bravery to strengthen yourself. This will power up your charge attacks by one level.
Immortal Blade	3	Perform a single strike from a stationary stance. Charging the attack increases its strength. The more attacks you sustain while charging, the shorter the charge duration.
Lingering Tempest Slash	3	Perform a single slash to create a protective barrier of wind. Any enemy that touches it will be thrown back and staggered. Charging this move extends the wind's duration.
Sharp Fang Flurry	5	Perform a flurry of forward slashes in a concentrated manner to form a powerful attack.
