Victory Condition: Cao Cao Escapes
The mission will revolve around helping Cao Cao escape from Wan Castle. His escape will stop on the Northeast side and Northwest wall, and will resume upon conquering the nearby bases. Occupy the bases as soon as Cao Cao halts his escape to win the battle.
Defeat Condition: Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, or Guo Jia Flees
The mission will end in a loss if Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun, or Guo Jia flees. Cao Cao will be in peril if conquering the bases takes too long, and either Xiahou Dun or Guo Jia will be in danger if no aid is provided in occupying the northeast base. Prioritize conquering the bases to avoid defeat.
How to Unlock Escape from Wan Castle
Choose Cao Cao's Faction in Chapter 3
Escape from Wan Castle is the first mission for the Wei (Cao Cao) route in Chapter 4. Complete the the contribution missions for Cao Cao's forces in Chapter 3 and choose to help Cao Cao to start Chapter 4 in the Wei Route.

Conquer the Northeast Base
After the mission starts, clear the enemy forces in front of the castle gate. After the cutscene of launching a volley of fire arrows, accompany the ally troops heading for the northeast base. Occupy the base to resume Cao Cao's escape.
Conquer the Northwest Base
Upon occupation, travel to the northwest base and defeat the officers and generals along the way. Conquering the northwest base allows the laddermen to setup Cao Cao's exit from the castle.
Enter the Castle and Save Dian Wei
Once the laddermen appears, enter the castle via the western gate and defeat four officers stationed within castle grounds. Defeating three officers in time initiates a voiceline from Huche'er, indicating that Dian Wei can be saved.
Defeating all officers and saving Dian Wei will fulfill one of the conditions for Wei's true ending.
Repel the Pursuants
Follow Cao Cao towards the southwest escape point. Jia Xu will execute an ambush once allies reach the western passage. Focus on defeating him to crumble his forces and continue the escape.
Follow the forces until you arrive at a wooden bridge. The battle is won once Cao Cao arrives at the bridge.
Escape from Wan Castle Rewards
Weapon Proficiency
Weapon Proficiency will be rewarded based on the weapons used in battle. Ranking up weapon proficiency raises Wanderer's level, and reaching certain levels will unlock new skill trees to spend skill points on.
Skill Points and Mount EXP
Skill points and Mount EXP are also awarded based on the number of enemies defeated and which Horse was used.
These rewards vary greatly depending on the Wanderer's performance during battle.
