They also have abilities that take effect only when they're ridden or summoned, such as increased mounted stability, extended maximum mounted charge distance, and stagger nearby enemies when summoned.

After acquiring the first horse Walnut, subsequent horses can be claimed as a reward at the nearest Waymark within a province after raising its Peace Level.
Leveling up horses is the same as increasing weapon proficiency. Players just need to keep using the horse during battles to earn horse XP and level it up.
Horses can be mounted or ridden by first summoning them during battles using the Call Horse Button. Once a horse is summoned, the protagonist will automatically mount it.
To dismount, simply press the Dismount button.
The only way to equip gems is through the Battle Preparation under the Equipment tab. Once on the Equipment tab, simply select the Horse slot, then choose a horse from the available selection.
