Complete Optional Missions

Some optional missions offer additional guards as rewards, increasing the max amount you can bring into battle. One of which missions is the Siege of Yang Province in Chapter 3 that rewards you with two additional guards.

Tactics will not work well and you may not be able to get Dramatic Success without having a sufficient number of guards. Make sure to rally enough allies to gain an advantage in battle.
