The Dancing with the Happy-Go-Lucky Lions is a Lunar New Year event for version 3.3 in Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X). Learn how to beat the boss Nian Shou, complete each sub-event, see their rewards, and find out the release date and duration of this event!

How to Defeat the Boss Battles
First Boss - Nian Shou (Cursed Form)
 This enemy has no weakness or resistances. |
| Battle Details: Nian Shou will summon Seiryu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Genbu throughout the fight. These are called Shadows. Defeating Shadows will earn you Spark Powder, the enemy's Might, and inflict Almighty Damage to Nian Shou. Once you have gained 1000 Spark Powder it will activate Banishing Fireworks and inflict Terror on Nian Shou for 1 turn. |
The First Boss for this event is Nian Shou (Cursed Form). This stage will last from March 5, 2026 to March 10, 2026. The Boss Battle will consist of 4 challenges, with each stage having harder effects that debuff your team.
You can complete the challenge in three different difficulties, depending on your level: Normal, Hard, or Nightmare. You can also change the challenge manually by doing a custom difficulty.
Adjust Your Team as Needed
Each stage has a set of effects that are meant to deter your team. Read them carefully and adjust your units as needed to avoid getting major debuffs in battle.
Use the Trial Thieves
If you don't have the right units to take on the challenge, you can also select the Use Trial Thieves option. This will provide you with two trial characters that are fully leveled to use against the boss.
Defeat the Shadows First to Take Advantage of Their Might
Defeating the Shadows is the first thing that you need to do; not only will it give your team a buff through their might. Completely wiping out the shadows will also fill up your Spark Powder, allowing you to use Terror and stunning the enemy for 1 turn.
Do Not Take HP Buffs
If you are doing Custom Difficulty do not choose any effects that will increase an enemy's HP. Since the goal is to defeat the shadows faster, it would be better if you keep their health low so you can keep Nian Shou stunned with Terror.
Next Bosses are Scheduled in the Future
According to the broadcast that they did last March 4, 2026, new bosses are set to replace Nian Shou (Cursed Form), tentatively scheduled on March 10, 2026, with the Nian Shou (Ice Form) and then another Boss swap again on March 15, 2026, with the Nian Shou (Electric Form.)

How to Complete the Shooting Challenge
Rules and Mechanics
Shooting Challenge is a mini-game where you have to shoot targets to earn points and keep up your combo. You can pick a character with your desired ability to easily push through the stages and complete the goals.
There are a total of 10 stages to complete and 1 Endless mode. It doesn't have an entry limit, and you can always replay other stages.

The event's main story has a total of 21 chapters. Join Yaoling as she celebrates a traditional Chinese Lunar New Year with her friends. Investigate the strange occurrences in Chinatown and prepare for the lion dance performance.
