Similiar to the original game, there are a total of 10 Attributes in Persona 5 The Phantom X which consists of Physical, Gun, Fire, Ice, Electric, Wind, Psychokinesis, Nuclear, Bless, and Curse.
Attribute Affinities Explained
Unique to Each Persona
| Affinity | Effect |
|---|---|
| Weakness | Deals high damage and inflicts knock down |
| Resistance | Reduced damage from Attribute |
| Nullification | Negates damage from Attribute |
| Repel | Reflects damage back to attacker |
| Drain | Heals from that specific Attribute |
Each Persona has a unique Affinity towards other attribute types such as Weakness, Resistance, Nullification, Repel, and Drain.
Weakness deals more damage and can instantly inflict a knock down, Resistance can reduce the damage taken from that specific Attribute, and Nullification negates the damage taken from that attribute. Lastly, Repel will reflect the elemental damage to the attacker, while Drain completely absorbs the damage to heal themselves.
Conditions to Exposing Weakness
Keep in mind that the initial Attribute Affinity of a Shadow you just faced will be unknown until you first attack them with the Attribute they are weak to. Additionally, some Bosses or Shadows have certain conditions you need to meet before their weakness is exposed such as defeating the Shadow next to it or using a melee attack instead of a Persona skill.
Triggering Knock Downs Gives 1 More Turn
Whenever you inflict a weakness and trigger a knock, you will instantly get a 1 More turn where you can choose which character in your party will take the extra turn. Keep in mind that this can be done multiple times as long you inflict a knock down so try to have a good balance of Attributes within your party.
