Support Characters are Essential
Most of the top-tier characters among the 4-star roster are those who can support the team. Leon in particular is one of the best to boost attack and critical damage, and also provides a shield in Justice Barrier. As his allies' HP gets lower, his ability to buff them gets stronger.
Puppet also falls into this category on the defensive side. As of writing, she has the best shield-based skills in the game, protecting them from damage the longer the battle goes on.
Single-Target Assassins for Damage
Investing in single-target Assassin characters are always a good option in terms of DPS, and there are two of them among the 4-star roster. Flueret is most notable here, as he can take over a fight once he begins to stack Attack and Speed with the Right to Strike buff. This is on top of his ability to cause the Windswept debuff, which lowers defense.
If you could not get Joker as a Curse DPS, then Sepia can fill in those shoes. He mixes damage with survivability thanks to his Verse stacks from Sonnet of Fate, and will trigger additional effects based on which Verse stack is consumed.
