Kikuri-Hime is a unique boss that can be found in three different locations inside Shadow Miyazawa's Palace in Persona 5: The Phantom X (P5X). Check out the essential details, including the changing weaknesses and resistances of Kikuri-Hime, as well as the best team composition here.
| Enemy Level | Lv. 47 |
|---|---|
| Recommended Level | Lv. 50 |
| Safer Recommended Level | Lv. 55 |
The Kikuri-Hime fight recommends players to tackle this boss with a team that is at least Level 50. However, as the enemies in Shadow Miyazawa's palace have a difficulty spike compared to Shadow Kiuchi, we highly recommend you get Wonder and his teammates to Level 50 instead.
At this point of the game, all of the essential nodes for team building are unlocked, from improvement materials to Revelation Cards. Be properly leveled, equipped and prepared first before tackling this boss.
There are three locations where Kikuri-Hime can be spotted in Miyazawa's Palace. You have to reach the Castle Keep Depths in order to find them.

Kikuri-Hime's affinities do not change in all three boss fights. Instead, her allies will change, and each one have their own set of weaknesses and resistances.

If you have Kikuri-Hime in your roster, you would remember that she is a Medic Persona with mostly support skills. Her attacks do not hit as hard.
That being said, not only does Kikuri-Hime buff the ally she has in the fights, she is also the granter of the Arbritration conditions and the Bond of Death effect. Once she's taken down, both effects are ineffective for the rest of the fight.

Bond of Death immediately triggers at the start of the turn, and every two afterwards. This will immediately incapacitate one of your team members, meaning for the majority of the fight you will only have 3 members to work with.
| Arbitration Skill | Conditions |
|---|---|
| Arbitration - Survival | Healing or Defense Skills or Highlights must not be used. |
| Arbitration - Attack | Attack skills or Highlights must not be used. |
| Arbitration - Support | Buff and Debuff Skills or Highlights must not be used. |
| Seal of Mortality Effect | |
| If the Phantom Thieves defy the Arbitration, they gain 1 Seal of Mortality, and if they gain 2 seals, they are KO'd. | |
When Kikuri-Hime triggers one of the three possible Arbitration, you can ignore the restriction once. This gives you a little more wiggle room in dealing damage, especially if you happen to be locked out of Guardian or Medic Skills.

When you fulfill the condition set by the Arbitration, Lufel will comment that Kikuri-Hime is pleased with your performance. This is a signal that the Arbitration is cleared, and any stacks of Seal or Mortality on your allies seem to be reset.

If you have an ally that was taken out because of Bond of Death, they will be revived after fuflfilling the conditions of the Arbitration.

As of the moment, the two Psychokineseis characters in Riddle and Moko are more support characters than being offensive powerhouses. This means Wonder will have to be the Psychic DPS. With the free 5-star selector, this further incentivizes grabbing Panther for being a Fire Sweeper.
For support, Riddle can work, but Moko is more suggested for being F2P friendly. Cattle is a reliable Medic, and is the last piece to trigger both Fire and Psychic harmonies to boost both elements' damage.

Leon is currently the only Nuclear character among the available Phantom Thieves, and he's great in dealing damage in Atomic Smash and shielding people with Justice Barrier. With Puppet, shields will be quite big for the Phantom Thieves. This means Wonder can serve as more powerful Nuclear user.
For Fire users, Panther and Key are a great tandem. Both hit harder if the opponent is burned, and have powerful single-target spells in their arsenal.

You can run an Fire and Ice Assassin team against these two, since Kikuri-Hime is weak to Fire and Orthrus is weak to Ice. Bring Soy and Cattle along not just for defensive purposes, but also to trigger the Fire and Ice Duet Harmonies to give both elements a 10% damage boost.
Just make sure to hit their respective weaknesses and not mix it up. Orthrus has a passive Fire Absorb, which heals him for each time it gets hit with a Fire attack.

Make sure that your team is not underleveled and under-equipped. Make sure to have your Phantom Thieves at least around the Minimum or Recommended Level for the boss fight.
Leveling Guide: How to Level Up Fast

Before you head into the fight, remember to adjust your team comp properly as well as their turn order! The game will even bring you to the Team screen just before the boss fight properly begins.
Make sure to bring the right people for the job. Otherwise, the fight will be a lot harder before you realize you are using the wrong team.

Before you go into the fight, you could consume some of the home cooking Wonder makes in the kitchen. The food he makes will grant the team some buffs that will last for a certain number of battles. These include boss fights like in the Palace or in Mementos!
