The Mindscape is an additional way to boost a character's stats passively, by gaining currency tied to your progress in the Velvet Trials! Check out how to unlock Mindscape nodes, how to get materials to unlock them, and which stats and skills will get boosted upon unlocking them!
List of Contents

To unlock the Mindscape function itself, players must bring their Account Level to 55. Or in other words, Wonder himself has to be at least Level 55 to unlock this for all other characters you won.

To unlock each of the main stat upgrade nodes in the Mindscape, they will have to use a currency called Stardust Shards in order to unlock them.

To unlock each node in the inner circle of a character's mindscape you need to unlock the 2nd/4th/6th/8th/10th node of the outer circle alongside needing the new Stardust and Venus materials to upgrade each node.

Stardust Shards are a brand new currency added to the game starting in Version 1.4 alongside the Mindscape. These are what you need to spend in order to unlock Mindscapes.
As for gaining them, players earn them passively upon logging in daily. However, the amount of Shards earned will be determined by your current progress with your Velvet Trials.

How much Stardust Shards you gain daily is determined by the number of stars you have earned in the Velvet Trials. The more stars you collect, the higher the payout of the Stardust Shards everyday.
This encourages the player to keep progressing through each of the difficult challenges found in this game mode.

In Version 3.0, a new material is available to be farmed only in Realm of Repression to get more Stardust Bell to use and enhance the node in the inner circle of Mindscape specifically to upgrade the character's stats.

You can also exchange your P-Medals to get more Stardust Bell every month.

Each stella cleared in Trial of the Astrolabe will reward you with Stella Bottles and even more in Lord or Fate Stellas. You can also get more Stardust Bottle if you are able to clear Trials of the Astrolabe using few Willpower and Challenge attempts.

Your main source of Venus Bottle is through achieving specific scores on each rotation of Trials from the Sea of Souls. To get more, you need to rank up and obtain higher amounts of Venus Bottles.

You can also get a few Venus Bottles from leveling up characters up to level 75. Do take note that this only applies to 5★ characters.

You can only get Venus Gems when completing Lord Stella, which is the purple node, and Fate Stella, which has the red node. The fights are normally much harder than non-colored nodes in Trial of the Astrolabe.

You can also get a few Venus Gems from leveling up characters up to level 80. Do take note that this only applies to 5★ characters.

Players do have a tendency to spend a lot, if not everything, on a character they particularly like. If there is a character from the current roster of Phantom Thieves you have a preference for, by all means make them as strong as can be.
Depending on the player's luck, some characters might just be stronger compared to others. Sometimes it could be because they have their best-in-slot weapon equipped, or they happen to have a couple of Awareness levels unlocked.
It might be a worthwhile investment to make those stronger characters even better through Mindscape upgrades.
P5X Tier List for Best Characters

For the most part, dealing damage is still the most important aspect in Persona 5: The Phantom X, as most of the objectives here require depleting an enemy's HP to 0.
In that case, investing additional stats and buffs to Assassins or Sweepers makes the most sense, as they can hit harder, which could be the big difference between winning or losing a hard boss fight.
There are two types of nodes to unlock within a Phantom Thief's Mindscape: there's an Outer Ring, and the Inner Ring.

The first thing players will need to unlock first are the nodes on the Outer Ring of a Mindscape map. There are 12 of them available, and while the values for each character will be different, it is the same set for all characters.
Each of these 12 nodes will cost Stardust Shards, and it becomes more expensive the further you go.
| # | Buff | Stardust Shard Cost |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Increase HP | 100 |
| 2 | Increase Defense | 150 |
| 3 | Increase Attack | 200 |
| 4 | Increase HP | 300 |
| 5 | Increase Defense | 400 |
| 6 | Increase Attack | 500 |
| 7 | Increase HP | 650 |
| 8 | Increase Defense | 800 |
| 9 | Increase Attack | 950 |
| 10 | Increase HP | 1100 |
| 11 | Increase Defense | 1250 |
| 12 | Increase Attack | 1450 |
If you want to unlock the entire Outer Ring of Mindscape buffs for one character, you would have to pay out a total of 7,850 Stardust Shards.

The second part of the Mindscape is the Inner Ring, which are normally unlocked after getting to the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th and 10th stat buffs on the Outer Ring.
These ones will wildly differ based on your characters, as they are meant to be buffs and upgrades to their existing Abilities and Skills.

Mindscapes are an additional way to make a character stronger, beyond leveling them up and equipping them with Revelation Cards and Weapons.
These are permanent buffs to the character, which will affect their stats, Abilities and Skills depending on what the player unlocks in that character's Mindscape.
