Kotone has potential as an Ice Assassin, thanks to her passive letting her do follow-up attacks in Blade Dancer. However, that is tied to her having Ice Crystal stacks that can only be gained by defeating an enemy or using Winter Storm. On top of that, Ice itself does not have any powerful support from the current roster of characters.

Lower Enemies' HP
Mont is a unique character whose potential does not appear early in the battle. Her strongest skill, Durandal of Ice, gains more damage depending on the missing HP of the target.
Her Highlight also provides a damage buff that depends on the missing HP of the enemy.
Gain Parhelion
Aside from decreasing the HP of the target, Durandal of Ice also needs Parhelion to show its full potential. Activate Parhelion by earning 10 Ice Crystal stacks.

There are many ways to gain Ice Crystal Stacks for Mont. Everytime Mont and another character takes action, she earns 1 Ice Crystal stack.
To earn Ice Crystal stacks faster, use Winter Storm during her turn and she will gain 4 stacks. You also get an Ice Crystal stack when you use Baton Pass, and the Extra Turn of Joker.
After you unlock State of Selflessness, you can also get 4 Ice Crystal stacks by defeating an enemy.
Time Durandal of Ice
The best time to use Durandal of Ice is when you already have Parhelion and you have at least 9 Ice Crystal stacks. If timed properly, Mont will do a follow-up attack after unleashing Durandal of Ice.

Prioritize leveling Durandal of Ice in order to increase its damage. Afterwards, players can pick whether to upgrade Winter Storm or Frost Lily since you will be using these skills more compared to her Highlight.
Her Highlight's damage buff also does not go up even if you level up her skills.

Mont can fit well in a team with Joker. Mont can serve as the secondary DPS while Joker will serve as the main damage-dealer.
Rin, meanwhile, can debuff enemies so that Mont and Joker can deal more damage. Wonder will fill up the healer or tank role of the team.

If you want to use Mont as your Main DPS, you need to quickly bring down the HP of your enemies. Leon and Moko can provide strong attack buffs that will help Mont to deal huge damage even at the start of the battle.
You will want Wonder to bring an Ice Persona so that the party can get a 10% Ice Skill Damage buff. It will even be better if the Persona is a Healer or a Tank.

The Power and Growth set is also a good fit for Mont. Like Mont, who shines best when the enemy already lost a lot of HP, the set becomes more effective as the fight lasts longer.
