Shake off mini octopus enemies (Peekaboopoids) before they drain your HP in Donkey Kong Bananza. Know how to deal with swarms of mini octopus enemies, where to find them, learn and what these enemies do when they latch to you!
List of Contents
To get rid of the Peekaboopoids, attack repeatedly. Basic attacks or a spin attack will work to knock them off.
Once they’re off, you’ll still need to deal with them individually, use basic attacks or a Dive Punch to finish them off before they reattach.
These mini octopus enemies can camouflage themselves to blend in with the terrain. They stay still until you get close, then suddenly leap out and latch onto you.
Keep an eye out for slight movements or off-looking textures on walls and floors as those are often a giveaway. Sometimes even Pauline will comment, saying something feels off in the environment, giving you a hint that a Peekapooboid might be lurking nearby.
Once attached, these enemies will gradually reduce your health over time. If left alone, a swarm can quickly chip away at your HP bar.
The longer they stay on, the more HP you lose, so it’s best to get rid of them fast.

Mini octopus enemies appear in the Lagoon Layer. They tend to show up in groups and can easily sneak up while you’re focused on platforming.

You’ll also encounter them during the Peekabruiser boss fight.
They appear once you destroy Peekabruiser's armor and will distract you and drain your HP if ignored, so be ready to shake them off quickly.

These Peekaboopoids can also sometimes appear as main enemies during Challenge Ruins.
