What Can You Do with Donkey Kong Bananza's GameShare

Navigate the World as Donkey Kong (Player 1)

2 Player Co-Op

Donkey Kong Bananza supports GameShare where the gameplay will be similar to a local co-op session. The primary player will take control of Donkey Kong, while the second player will be able to use Pauline.

Use Vocal Blasts as Pauline (Player 2)

As Pauline, the second player can send out vocal blasts that can destroy terrain along the way. This is useful to support the DK player and take care of enemies from afar.

Does Donkey Kong Bananza Have Multiplayer Co-Op?

Copy Material of Terrain

The second player controlling Pauline can also copy the material of nearby terrain which can give vocal blasts stronger properties. For example, Pauline can make her vocal blasts made of gold which can easily destory thorny plants.

How to GameShare Donkey Kong Bananza

Local GameShare

Nintendo Switch 2 Local GameShare

Donkey Kong Bananza can be shared via local GameShare, where two Nintendo Switch 2 devices are nearby each other. The second device does not need a copy of the game, but it can only play as long as the session is active.

The player without the game will be able to play as Pauline.

Local GameShare Compatible with Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch 1 Local GameShare

Local GameShare also supports connecting with a Nintendo Switch 1, which itself does not support the game on cart as it is a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. The user on the Switch 1 will play as Pauline.

Can You Play Donkey Kong Bananza on a Switch 1?

Online GameShare via GameChat

Nintendo Switch 2 Online GameShare

Donkey Kong Bananza also supports online GameShare with another Nintendo Switch 2 from far away via GameChat.

Here, another player who does not have a game but has a Nintendo Switch 2 can connect to someone who has the game, and will be able to play as Pauline while connected via GameChat.

Do note that a Nintendo Switch Online membership is required to use GameChat. At the time of writing, the GameChat system can be used by all players until March 31, 2026, but an online membership is required afterwards to use the feature.
