You can get Gold by destroying the environment such as rocks, walls, and concrete surfaces.
Make sure you take the time to destroy the environment when exploring if you're also looking to farm Gold!
How to Break Concrete
Using Hand Slap allows Donkey Kong to collect all the gold in an area and is a more efficient way to collect them.
If you find a spot in the world where there's a lot of scattered gold about, use the ground slap move to collect them all at once!

Gold Spouts are sometimes found underground and appear to be spouting molten particles in the air. Destroying these will reward a lot of Gold, so make sure to look out for them when exploring the underground levels.

You can also get Gold from Treasure Chests. These usually have maps, but they may also contain a lot of Gold so keep a look out for them!

Wearing the Treasure Tie neckwear boosts treasure chest spawn rates by 10%. It's a good idea to have it equipped if you're trying to farm gold.

Around certain locations, there will be special Gold-colored Ruins. Keep an eye out for these as their main purpose is to give you a lot of gold. It is currently not known if these can be repeatedly done or not.
Given its abundance, there really is no need to actively farm for gold. Gold will only be required once the player reaches the Forbidden Layer, where DK is required to save up 17,000 Gold in order to progress the story.
The maximum amount of Gold you can have is 999,999.99 Gold.
Collecting Gold fills up your Bananergy Meter which allows you to use Bananza Powers for exploration and combat!
List of Bananza Powers and Transformations

Gold is used to purchase items from the Stuff Shop which include items that can help you in exploration and combat, such as the Melon Juice which allows you to use a Bananza Power without a full Bananergy meter.
Certain Growtones will ask for Gold to be offered to them. By sharing your Gold, the Growtones will sprout branches and reward you with Banandium Gems.
We've seen at least one Growtone in the Canyon Layer produce up to three Banandium Gems after being offered a total of 2000 Gold.

By talking to an Architectone, you can create small Getaways in exchange for Gold. These Getaways are small areas where DK and Pauline can rest, change outfits, and play music from Disks.
The price for building these Getaways have been shown to differ going from 100 Gold going up to 1200 Gold depending on the number of Getaways in the Layer.
