How to Tear Off Chunks

How to Tear Off Chunks

Hold ZR Near a Terrain

NSW - zR Hold Lets you grab a chunk from the nearby terrain or enemies.

Donkey Kong can tear a chunk off by holding the ZR button. This can be done on any terrain, be it on the ground or walls, and even on enemies' body parts!

Controls and Movement

Pull Turnips From the Ground to Find Items

Large turnips can also be found buried in the ground while exploring. You'll find items like Banandium Chips if you tear them off with the ZR button!

Pull Chunks from Enemies

You can also tear off chunks from enemies and use it to swing or throw it at them.

Double Jump Using a Chunk

Lets you jump on a chunk mid-air.

Pressing the jump button twice while holding a chunk lets you perform a double jump. Tear off a chunk and use Chunk Jumps to reach higher places!

Use Cloud Chunks to Float

Chunks torn off of cloud terrain allows you to float by simply holding them! The cloud chunk will quickly dissipate as it lifts you up, but it can definitely take you to a more elevated point than Chunk Jumps!

Swing Chunks to Attack Enemies and Break Terrain

NSW - Y When holding a chunk Lets you swing the chunk you are holding for a stronger attack

You can also swing the chunk you're holding by pressing the Y button. Chunk Swings are stronger than the attacks done with your bare hands and can even help with exploration like plowing through harder terrain or removing spiky thorns.

Throw Chunks at Enemies or Terrain

NSW - zR When holding a chunk Throw hard chunks to deal damage to enemies and the environment. You can also hold down ZR to aim.

Chunks can also be thrown at enemies and terrain to deal damage. Different types of chunks create different effects when thrown. For example, you can create makeshift bridges by sticking soft chunks together, cool lava with icy chunks to create a navigable path, or destroy a large area with molten rocks!

Ride Chunks to Navigate Terrain

NSW - zL When holding a chunk Lets you ride on the chunk of terrain you are holding.

Turf Surfing allows you to ride on the chunk you're holding for more efficient navigation. You can also knock smaller enemies away by colliding with them while surfing.
