Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong, also known as DK, stars as the main character of Donkey Kong Bananza. This powerful puncher has a big heart, and an even bigger appetite for bananas.
Originally an antagonist in the arcade era, he later became Nintendo’s jungle-dwelling protagonist known for protecting his island from invaders.
Pauline
Pauline is a playable character who uses her voice-based abilities in both exploration and combat.
In Donkey Kong Bananza, she appears as a younger version of herself, hinting that the game may be set before her time as Mayor of New Donk City.
Pauline Stars in a Voice-Acted Role
While we’ve heard Pauline sing the catchy Jump-Up Superstar in Super Mario Odyssey, her role in Donkey Kong Bananza features fully voice-acted dialogue.
Her English voice is performed by Jenny Kidd, while the Japanese voice is provided by Yurianne Eve. Fully voiced lines help Pauline feel more alive and fit her theme, since her power is tied to her voice.

Diddy and Dixie Kong appear together in the Racing Layer of the game.
These two are staples from the Donkey Kong Country games and bring their usual charm and energy into the mix.
Antagonists
The Void Company
The Void Company is a nefarious crew in charge of the mightiest mining operation both above ground and deep below. They are responsible for the banana-stealing maelstrom on Ingot Isle.
Throughout the game, they mine deeper and deeper toward the Planet Core in search of the Banandium Root causing environmental chaos and stealing bananas along the way.
