You can build Getaways by speaking to an Architectone in various locations around the map. Once spoken to, the Architectone will carve a space in the area to create a Getaway!

Getaways can be built in multiple locations and serve as base camps for the current layer. The first Getaway you build appears to cost 100 Gold and will increase in price, with the fifth getaway amounting to 500 Gold.

You can rest and recover lost health by sleeping at a Getaway. Additionally, resting at a getaway while your health is full will earn you bonus hearts.
The amount of bonus hearts you get appears to increase the more Getaways you unlock, with one Getaway equal to one bonus heart, capping out at 5 Bonus Hearts per layer.
How to Heal and Increase Max Health

You can play and change the music that plays in a getaway with Music Discs that you get from defeating enemies throughout the game.

You can also change Donkey Kong and Pauline's appearance by interacting with the closet in a getaway.
Each outfit has different effects and bonuses that can help in exploration and combat.

Emerald Rush is a roguelite mode that was added in the DK Island and Emerald Rush DLC for the game. In this mode, you'll be working with Void Kong to gather emeralds and reach the quota within the time limit.
During this mode, you'll be required to scour the map looking for emerald ores and breaking emerald Banandium Gems and Fossils. You can use getaways as fast travel points to navigate the layers faster compared to just running around.

Horrible list. A lot of missing and incorrect information (listing the wrong sublayer number for getaways for example). Don't trust this information!
