What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Grants special cooldown count-2 to herself and her support partner ・Special deals +10 damage while transformed ・Can raise the Def and Res of beast allies |
Might: 14 Range: 1 Grants Spd+3. At the start of turn 1, grants special cooldown count-2 to unit and unit's support partner (if any). At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2 and deals +10 damage when Special triggers. |
Cooldown Count = 3 Treats foe's Def/Res as if reduced by 50% during combat. |
If foe initiates combat and uses sword, lance, axe, dragonstone, or beast damage, grants Def/Res+6 during combat. |
Grants Def/Res+4 to beast allies within 2 spaces during combat. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (18) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Atk (23) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Spd (12) | ★★★★☆ | |
Def (7) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Res (6) | ★★★★★ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Velouria are +Def and -Res. Velouria is not built to take blows from magic units so having some points off her Res would not weaken her significantly. With that, you should maximize her Def as much as possible as she is very strong in that side of defense. Taking a +Def IV combined with her naturally very high Spd means that most physical units will find it hard to take her down.
Combine all that with her colorless attribute and Close Def 3, then you have a literal and figurative defensive beast!

Velouria can pre-charge Galeforce down to 2 cooldown at the start of each match through her Wolfpup Fang and Time's Pulse. Her role is to enter after the initiators and land one attack, which is assisted by Flashing Blade's Special acceleration to activate Galeforce and attack twice.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |

SP: 400 | |
Might: 14 Range: 1 HP: 3 Grants Spd+3. At the start of turn 1, grants Special cooldown count-2 to unit and unit's support partner (if any). If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat. At start of turn, if unit is adjacent to only beast or dragon allies or if unit is not adjacent to any ally, unit transforms (otherwise, unit reverts). If unit transforms, grants Atk+2, deals +7 damage when Special triggers, and neutralizes effects that grant "Special cooldown charge +X" to foe or inflict "Special cooldown charge -X" on unit. At start of turn, if unit is within 3 spaces of support partner, grants Atk/Spd+6 and "neutralizes foe's bonuses during combat" to unit and any support partner within 3 spaces of unit for 1 turn. If unit is transformed or foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, grants Atk/Spd+5 to unit during combat. :500 :200 |

Refined Wolfpup Fang boosts not just Velouria, but her support partner as well. It grants Atk/Spd+6 to both Velouria and her support partner, and neutralizes bonuses on their foes. Additionally, if Velouria is transformed, it grants an additional Atk/Spd+5 on top of the earlier bonuses.
These effects warrant the Special refine for sure over the other choices.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Velouria is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
One of the effects of Wolfpup Fang is that it grants special cooldown -2 to Velouria and her support partner at the start of turn 1. This synergizes well with weapons like Killing Edge+, skills like Special Spiral 3, and seals like Quickened Pulse. You can potentially take out high priority units at the start of battles with Velouria's abilities, if combined with the right hero. This is very important in the Arena or Aether Raids.
Running Velouria with a support partner possessing Galeforce in Aether Raids can be a good idea because it greatly increases the number of actions you can take in this turn-limited competitive game mode.
If you are lucky enough to have multiple copies of Velouria and choose not to merge them together, the cooldown reduction of her Wolfpup Fang will stack onto each other! For example, you have Velouria partnered with Ophelia. A team composition composed of 2 Velourias and 2 Ophelias mean that they will all get a special cooldown count reduction of -4. This is not including skills and seals coming from the supported unit that also grant special cooldown count reduction! Another unit to pair-up with Velouria is Navarre who also specializes in quickly activatiing his special.
You can also opt for 1:3 Velouria to Supported Ally team composition where Velouria will mainly act as a support unit in the backline. For example, in a team of 1 Velouria partnered with Caineghis, all Caineghis will reap the benefits of Wolfpup Fang's cooldown count reduction!
Velouria's C skill, Ward Beasts grants +4 Def/Res to all beast allies within 2 spaces of Rafiel. This gives her some supporting ability on top of her attributes as a tanky frontline unit in all beast teams. This helps her in supporting allies if ever you are opting for a team composition similar to the one discussed above.
Ally Support will not work when being controlled by AI. This means Velouria will be unable to fully reap the benefits of Wolfpup Fang's special cooldown reduction if she is used as a defense unit in the Arena or in Aether Raids.
Velouria works better in a very specific team that is designed to make her and her allies better. This is because of the factors below.
This does not mean she can not be effective in many teams, this only means that she shines best in teams that are specifically designed around her. You can change Ally Support at any time but this would not be convenient for players.
If you have multiple copies of Velouria, they can only be partnered with 1 type of unit as well! This means all your Velourias will be partnered with Naesala if you choose him to be the partner. Consequently, all your Naesala copies will be partnered with Velouria as well.
Veloruia's Res only sits at 23 at Lv.40. This makes it easy for magic users to take her out. Be mindful of Velouria's positioning in relation to magical units that can easily take her out.
Fortunately for Velouria, her mobility makes it easy for her to advantageously position herself. Close Def 3 also supplements her Res against dragonstone units. She can definitely work around this weakness unlike other units who have low Res.
Velouria takes 1.5x damage from beast-effective weapons like Brave Eliwood's Nini's Ice Lance, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Wolfpup Fang grants a special cooldown reduction to Velouria and her support partner. Even if this is a one time boost, it is very important to fully take advantage of as it provides huge momentum to your team. We recommend pairing-up Velouria with units that possess powerful specials like Galeforce or Blazing Light. Take note that Blazing Light requires some strategy to be used but it is very powerful when used correctly.
In order for Velouria to reap the full benefits of Wolfpup Fang, she needs to be adjacent to only beast or dragon allies. She also transforms if she is not adjacent to any ally at all. Wolfpup Fang's transformation benefits are amazing so you should keep it online as much as possible. Having more beast and dragonstone allies in the party will make it easier for her to transform as there will be no need to worry about awkward unit positioning. Additionally, beast allies will support each other as most of them have beast support C skill! In Velouria's case, she possesses Ward Beasts which grants a Def/Res bonus to her allies.
Lyon | Picnic Flora | Robin (M) | Brave Eliwood |
Cecilia | Robin (F) | Picnic Felicia | Pent |
Halloween Mia |
As discussed in the IVs section, Velouria has a poor Res stat. This makes her very vulnerable to magic users especially to raven tome users like Cecilia, Robin (M) and Robin (F). She also has trouble with magic users that make it hard for her to activate her special like Pent and Halloween Mia.
Beast effective weapons may be a rare sight, but this does not mean you should not pay attention to them. Unfortunately, wielders of these weapons are natural powerhouses that can still do decent damage despite Velouria's huge Def! Stay clear of units like Picnic Flora, Picnic Felicia and Brave Eliwood as they possess said weapons.
Take note that Close Def 3 will not work against Picnic Flora as she is a ranged unit.

Velouria can be used to inherit the skill Ward Beasts. However, beast supports like Leanne and Reyson already have their own support skills! Leanne has Hone Beasts while Reyson has Fortify Beasts. In fact, Rafiel even has Ward Beasts in his base kit. Velouria can be a powerhouse with enough investment so try not to fodder her off as it does not make much sense to fodder off a main beast unit to better a beast support.
Velouria is a Hero who can be pulled from any summon.
Note: Not currently a featured hero in any Summon events.

I really like being alone the best. Nothing bothers me, and I can do whatever I want. Well...actually, I’ve changed my mind a little bit since I came here. There are so many people here, and each has their own way of looking at things… But they accept each other’s differences. Nobody tries to bother me if I don’t want to be bothered... Nobody forces me to do anything I don’t want to do. Everyone here is so good to me... It really motivates me. I have the feeling that if I stick with you, I’ll find treasures I never could have found by myself. |
