New Year Kyza is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Polished Fang suits Kyza's defensive playstyle!

New Year Kyza polishes his fangs on the enemy Osian!

New Year Kyza comes with his own unique Red Beast weapon in Polished Fang.

It increases his Def+3 and Atk/Def+6 if his foe's HP ≥ 75%.

Additionally, if Kyza's Def > foe's Def, it accelerates Special charge and deals +5 damage per Kyza's attack!

Finally, these effects work whether Kyza is transformed or not. When Kyza is transformed, he gains an additional Atk+2, deals an additional +7 damage when his Special triggers, and has Null Guard and Null Special acceleration to his foe!

High Def and Good Skillset to Complement

New Year Kyza has high base Def at 41, 45 with a superboon, and Close Def 3 plus Atk/Def Oath 3 to add on to his bulk.

This makes fulfilling his role as a tank easier!

New Year Kyza Weaknesses

Atk/Def Oath and Beast properties require being adjacent to beasts and dragons.

In order to fulfill both the conditions of Atk/Def Oath 3 and Beast transformation, New Year Kyza is required to be adjacent to either a beast or a dragon.

Otherwise, he cannot activate one of his conditions, and his potential is worsened!

Replacing his Atk/Def Oath 3 skill with another alternative should fix this problem.
