Distant Reversal Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range. If foe initiates combat, grants Def+5 to unit during combat.

Atk/Def Bulwark 3 Foes with Range = 1 cannot move through spaces adjacent to unit, and foes with Range = 2 cannot move through spaces within 2 spaces of unit. (Does not affect foes with Pass skills.) Inflicts Atk/Def-4 on foe during combat. Restores 7 HP to unit after combat.

How to Use, Explanation

New Year Ash makes a fantastic Galeforce follow-up unit after her allies have initiated. Warping with Wings of Mercy satisfies the ally proximity conditions of Heralding Horn, granting multiple effects. Since Ash will be initiating an attack, ensure she fights a red foe to trigger the brave effect.

New Year Ash is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Heralding Horn has multiple effects based on allies' proximity

Similar to her original version, New Year Ash wields a weapon in Heralding Horn that improves based on the number of nearby allies.

It accelerates her Special trigger and has a handful of effects with varying conditions.

Below is a summary of these effects:

1	Grants Atk+6 to New Year Ash during combat, if foe initiates combat or if foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat
2	Inflicts an Atk-6 penalty to New Year Ash's foe during combat, if foe initiates combat or if foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat
3	New Year Ash attacks twice, if there is at least one ally within 3 spaces AND if New Year Ash has weapon-triangle advantage or if her foe initiates combat
4	Reduces damage from foe's first attack during combat by 40%, if there are at least two allies within 3 spaces
5	New Year Ash's foe cannot make a follow-up attack, if there are at least three allies within 3 spaces
6	Ash deals +7 damage when her Special triggers, if New Year Ash is transformed
7	Neutralizes effects that accelerate the foe's Special cooldown charges per attack, if New Year Ash is transformed
8	Neutralizes effects that slow down Ash's Special cooldown charges per attack such as Guard 3, if New Year Ash is transformed

Among all of these effects, the most important is attacking twice. Prioritize triggering this effect over everything else if you cannot trigger all of these effects at once.

Opening Retainer boosts the Atk of Ash and her allies and grants superior mobility

New Year Ash also comes with Opening Retainer like her original version.

It grants Atk+4 to allies within 2 spaces during combat, and grants Atk+4 to New Year Ash during combat if she is within 2 spaces of an ally.

In addition to the Joint Drive Atk effect, it also allows allies within 2 spaces of Ash to move to a space within 2 spaces of Ash.

New Year Ash takes 1.5x damage from beast-effective weapons like Brave Eliwood's Nini's Ice Lance or Picnic Flora's Sæhrímnir, and one blow from this type of weapon will leave a huge dent, even through her amazing bulk.
