When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for New Year Ash are +Atk and -Spd. Her Atk is a superboon and improves her offensive power significantly by increasing her base Atk to 48 which is among the highest in the game.
Her Spd is a clear dump stat and is a safe bane to take.
We recommend +Atk when merging New Year Ash up to +10 to improve her already impressive attacking power.

New Year Ash already comes with a great base kit. We opted for Atk/Def Form 3 because it will be easy to power up using Opening Retainer's mobility.

New Year Ash makes a fantastic Galeforce follow-up unit after her allies have initiated. Warping with Wings of Mercy satisfies the ally proximity conditions of Heralding Horn, granting multiple effects. Since Ash will be initiating an attack, ensure she fights a red foe to trigger the brave effect.

New Year Ash is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Similar to her original version, New Year Ash wields a weapon in Heralding Horn that improves based on the number of nearby allies.
It accelerates her Special trigger and has a handful of effects with varying conditions.

Among all of these effects, the most important is attacking twice. Prioritize triggering this effect over everything else if you cannot trigger all of these effects at once.
New Year Ash also comes with Opening Retainer like her original version.
It grants Atk+4 to allies within 2 spaces during combat, and grants Atk+4 to New Year Ash during combat if she is within 2 spaces of an ally.
In addition to the Joint Drive Atk effect, it also allows allies within 2 spaces of Ash to move to a space within 2 spaces of Ash.
Utilize the warping effect to enhance Heralding Horn!
New Year Ash takes 1.5x damage from beast-effective weapons like Brave Eliwood's Nini's Ice Lance or Picnic Flora's Sæhrímnir, and one blow from this type of weapon will leave a huge dent, even through her amazing bulk. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
