Chaos Flame is a legendary resource you can use to upgrade Kratos's Blades of Chaos. Head over to Brok or Sindri and upgrade the weapon once you've accumulated Chaos Flame.
There are a total of four Chaos Flames that can be found in the game. With the game's patch, you can get all four even without completing the main story.
You acquire your first Chaos Flame after defeating the bridgekeeper, Mattugr Helson, during your first visit to Helheim.
You'll be able to find the two trolls during the quest The Black Rune. Defeat the two trolls in the Temple of Tyr and acquire your second Chaos Flame.
How to Beat Grendel of the Ashes and Grendel of the Frost
Locate the first Traveler behind the gate locked with Winds of Hel during your second visit to Helheim. You will naturally encounter this gate so don't worry. Unlock the gate and defeat the first traveler to acquire the third Chaos Flame.
Escape from Helheim Quest Walkthrough
The last Chaos Flame can be acquired after completing the Trials of Muspelheim and defeating Gondul atop the fiery hellhole of Muspelheim.
