Snowfields (Night) Walkthrough: List of Pokemon and How to Unlock

This guide will cover all of the Pokemon that can be found in Snowfields (Night) of Shiver Snowfields in New Pokemon Snap (Pokemon Snap 2) for the Nintendo Switch, as well as how to unlock the level. Locations for all Pokemon in Snowfields (Night), as well as alternate routes, requests, crystabloom and ancient ruins locations can be found here!

How to Raise Your Research Level

Pokemon Locations

Pokemon	Where to Find
Vivillon	A group of Vivillon can be found inside the ice cave after taking the two alternate routes. Another can be found as you emerge from the ice cave near where Jynx and the Avalugg are located. As of ver 2.0.0., an Icy-Snow pattern-Vivillon can be found at the end of the main path.
Magikarp	As you emerge from the ice cave after taking the two alternate routes, look to your left to find an iceberg with a hole in the middle. Throw a Fluffruit at it for Magikarp to jump from the water.
Furret	You can find a Furret in the beginning of the course before it runs away from the Mightyenas. Alternatively, you can throw a Fluffruit on one of the holes for it to pop out. As you climb the hill on the main path, a Furret can be seen jumping down from a hill before running from the Mightyena. Another Furret can be found running away from a Wevile on the first alternate route.
Cubchoo	You can find some Cubchoo on your right inside the ice cave. Another can be found sleeping next to a Beartic after emerging from the ice cave. You may need to throw some Fluffruits at the Beartic to move it away and get its photo.
Beartic	You can find Beartic on the last area after taking the two alternate routes.
Mightyena	A group of Mightyenas appear as soon as you start the course. You can find another group as you climb up the main path. Another can also be found in the area after the first snow wall. You can also look above and to your right to find one at the cliff. After taking a photo of the Mightyena on the cliff at the first snow wall area, head ot the second alternate route and proceed to the exit point. Wait for the group of Mightyenas to appear on a cliff behind the Aurorus.
Weavile	You can find a Wevil on the last tree on the right near the Crystabloom at the beginning of the course. Take the first alternate route and throw an Illumina Orb at the Crabominable. After Abomasnow creates a blizzard, proceed through the area and you can find a Weavile chasing after a Furret.
Braviary	At the starting point, look above to find a Braviary flying in the sky. You can also find it flying on the mountain area. Near the exit point of the main path, you can find a sleeping Braviary.
Swinub	A Swinub can be found on the last area of the main path. Another can be found near the ice shoreline after emerging from the second alternate route.
Mamoswine	A sleeping Mamoswine can be found on the last area of the main path. Another can be found on the last area after taking the two alternate routes.
Sandslash	At the beginning of the course, look to your left and run a scan to find the ??? on a small hill. Throw Illumina Orbs at it for Sandslash to come out. Another Sandslash appears in between a Mightyena and a Furret on the main path.
Abomasnow	After climbing up on the main path, look to your right and above to find a sitting Abomasnow and a Furret on a hill. You can find another one as you head to the last area of the main path. A sleeping Abomasnow can be found behind a tree on your left after entering the first alternate route.
Vulpix	A sleeping Vulpix can be found in the cave on the main path. Run a scan and look to your right to find a small opening in the cave. You can find a Vulpix on the last area after taking the main path. Look to your right to find this Pokemon in a small iceberg.
Delibird	You can find Delibird at the beginning of this course. After emerging from the first snow wall, throw two Fluffruits and an Illumina Orb at the sleeping Crabominable. Wait for the Snoms to jump out from the tree and throw Illumina Orbs at them for Delibird to appear. At Research Level 2, you can find one climbing a cliff on the main path. At the last area on the main path, you can find a Delibird on your right near the exit point. Another can be found at the last area after taking the two alternate routes.
Snom	Once you enter the cave on the main path, look up to your right to find some Snom on the ceiling. You can find multiple Snoms in the first snow wall area. Wait for the Neo-One to head pass the tree with a Frosmoth on top and run a scan to see multiple Snoms emerge from the tree. After taking the two alternate routes, you can find a Snom following a Piplup and a Delibird near the exit point.
Frosmoth	Near the starting point, look to your right above the holes in the snow to find a Snowmoth on a hill. A Frosmoth can be found perched on top of a tree in the first snow wall area. At Research Level 1, you can find a Frosmoth clinging at the edge of the ice sheet at the mountain in the main path. Once you enter the cave on the main path, look up to your right to find a Frosmoth and some Snom on the ceiling. You can find another Frosmoth as you enter the last area on the main path.
Crabominable	You can find Crabominable in the area after entering the first snow wall.
Snorunt	At the beginning of the course, look to your left and throw a Fluffruit at the igloo for two Snorunts to appear and run away. Three Snorunts can be found on the mountain area of the main path.
Froslass	Froslass only appears after throwing an Illumina Orb at the Crabonimable to knock the snow onto the Abomasnow. Look above to see Froslass emerging behind the tree. Do not take its photo and wait for it to enter the cave on the main path. Throw Fluffruits at the Snoms that it interacts with for Froslass to move to the next spot. After it moves to the last area of the main path, throw an Illumina Orb at it to wake it up and move around the area.
Jynx	As you ascend to the main path, look down in between the ice sheets to find two Jynx and a Crystabloom. Note that they can only be found in this area at Research Level 2. The first group can be found in a cave on the main path. The second group can be found in the ice cave after taking the two alternate routes. Another can be found sitting on top of an Avalugg on the last area after emerging from the ice cave.
Spheal	Three Spheals can be found on the last area after taking the main path.
Piplup	You can a find Piplup at the beginning of the course. You can also find another one sleeping after throwing a Fluffruit at an igloo on the left of the starting point. At Research Level 2, you can find a group on the last area on the main path. A Piplup can also be found hiding in a snow tree on the first alternate route. You need to wake up the Piplup inside the igloo on the starting area and take the first alternate route. As you emerge from the first snow wall, wait for the Neo-One to pass behind the snow tree with a Frosmoth on top and play the Melody. If done correctly, a Piplup will pop its head out from the snow tree. You can find another following a Delibird near the exit point after taking the two alternate routes.
Vanilluxe	Vanilluxe can be found in the cave with the two Jynx and a Crystabloom on the main path or after taking the first alternate route. Another can be found sleeping on your right inside the ice cave after taking the second alternate route.
Avalugg	An Avalugg can be found carrying a Jynx on the last area after taking the two alternate routes. Another can be found surfacing from the water in the same area.
Aurorus	You can find an Aurorus trapped inside an ice in the ice cave. You need to wake up and lure the Jynx to the Crystabloom and then throw an Illumina Orb at the flower for this Pokemon to appear. An Aurorus can be found walking near the exit point after taking the two alternate routes.
Dewgong	You can find a Dewgong on an iceberg after taking the two alternate routes.
Glaceon	Enter the first alternate route and look to your left on a cliff to find Glaceon sleeping. After waking up Glaceon, proceed through the last area on the main path and throw a Fluffruit at the Spheal before Abomasnow moves them away. Wait for Glaceon to jump to the area next to Vulpix and take its photo.
Suicune	Suicune appears on the last area after taking the two alternate routes. Throw an Illumina Orb at the Jynx found above the Avalugg and look to right to wait for Suicune to appear.

Snowfields (Night) Alternate Routes

Alternate Route 1 - Snow Wall

You can unlock the this Alternate Route by following some specific steps while in Snowfields (Day). After unlocking it on that course, you can access it at nighttime.

How to Unlock Alternate Route 1 - Snow Wall

1		Start the Snowfields (Day) at Reseach Level 2. From the starting point, look to your left to find a Sandslash and take a photo of it.
2		Follow the Sandslash's trail and take a photo of it on a hill just above the Beartic and Cubchoo.
3		Look to your right and wait for Sandslash to reappear again. After it digs through the snow, run a scan to head through the snow to reveal the first Alternate Route.

Alternate Route 2 - Ice Cave Snow Wall

After unlocking the first Alternate Route, you can find and unlock this second Alternate Route that leads you to an ice cave.

How to Unlock Alternate Route 2 - Ice Cave Snow Wall

1		After unlocking the first snow wall Alternate Route, start Snowfields (Night) and set the Research Level to 2. Follow the same route leading through a snow.
2		Throw an Illumina Orb at the Crabominable and wait for it to wake up the Abomasnow.
3		After the Abomasnow wakes up, look above and take a photo of Froslass as soon as it appears.
4		Run a scan and take the second Alternate Route to head through the snow.

A Safe Place to Sleep Research Lv. 2	Enter the cave and peek through the first hole on the right. Take a photo of the Vulpix sleeping there. Reward: Photo Frame 7 A Safe Place to Sleep Walkthrough
Present for a Friend Research Lv. 2	Enter the cave and throw Fluffruit in front of the second hole to the right to bring Delibird out. After it puts the fluffruit into its bag, play the Melody, which will cause it to pull out a fluffruit from its bag. Snap a photo of this pose. Present for a Friend Walkthrough
Like Powder Snow Research Lv. 1 or higher	Hit any of the 3 Frosmoth clinging to walls with a fluffruit. After you exit the cave, turn right and throw an illumina orb at any of the Frosmoth there, then capture a picture of them using blizzard. Like Powder Snow Walkthrough
Beyond the Wall of Snow Research Lv. 2	Capture a photo of Froslass that appears after an Abomasnow creates a blizzard. Beyond the Wall of Snow Walkthrough
With Their Powers Combined Research Lv. 2	Take the branching path, then the second branching path into the ice cave. Wake up the Jynx with fluffruit, and lure it to the crystabloom. Once it is there, throw an illumina orb at the crystabloom, and get a photo containing the two Jynx as they raise their arms. With Their Powers Combined Walkthrough
A Sheer Face Research Lv. 2	Take the branching paths and go past the ice cave with the Jynx. After exiting the cave, an Avalugg will climb from the water to the land. Aim upward and throw a fluffruit on its back to make it raise its front legs and growl. Snap a photo of it doing this. A Sheer Face Walkthrough
Shades of Aurorus Research Lv. 2	Follow the steps for the With Their Powers Combined request to make the two Jynx summon an Aurorus from the ice. Snap a photo of the Aurorus when it appears. Snowfields (Night) Crystablooms

Crystabloom	Where to Find
Crystabloom 1	You can find this Crystabloom near one of the holes with Furret inside at the beginning of the course.
Crystabloom 2	As you ascend to the main path, look down in between the ice sheets to find the glowing Crystabloom at the bottom.
Crystabloom 3	Take the first alternate route and find the Crystabloom on the right in between the two trees.
Crystabloom 4	On the second alternate route, look to your left to find the Crystabloom in the middle of the ice cave. Luring the Jynx on the left near this Crystabloom and then lighting it up causes the two Jynx to summon the Aurorus inside the ice.
Crystabloom 5	This Crystabloom can be found in the middle of the room with three Jynx and a Vanilluxe.
Crystabloom 6	You can find this Crystabloom on the left of the last area on the main path.

You can find the location of the Ancient Ruins inside the ice cave. After entering the second Branchiing Route, look left and run a scan to find this object of interest.
