How to Raise Your Research Level

  • A Flygon appears in the sky when looking to the right near the starting point.
  • Another one can be found sleeping in a sand hole on the alternate route. You need to throw a Fluffruit at it to wake it up.
New Pokemon Snap VivillonVivillon
  • Vivillon only appears after removing all the Lycanroc and then throwing an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom on the oasis area.
New Pokemon Snap TyranitarTyranitar
  • You can find a Tyranitar on the alternate route. You need to throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystabloom to remove the twister and the Pokemon should appear in front of you.
New Pokemon Snap TrapinchTrapinch
  • A group of Trapinch can be found at the starting point.
    You can also find another one hiding on the Oasis on the main path.
  • On the alternate route, you can find two Trapinch in a sand hole next to the two sleeping Hippowdon.
New Pokemon Snap SkorupiSkorupi
  • Two Skorupis can be found alongside some Trapinch at the starting point.
  • Another can be found in the trio of Crystablooms immediately after the starting point.
  • A single Skorupi can be found after playing the Melody on the sleeping Onix on the left near the exit point.
New Pokemon Snap OnixOnix
  • As you descend down in the main path, look to your right to find an Onix slithering to the other side.
  • There are also several sleeping Onix on the main path near the exit point.
New Pokemon Snap MiniorMinior
  • You can find four Miniors in the starting point. Scan the area and throw Illumina Orbs for them to come out of the sand and float away.
  • To get the Miniors in the oasis, you need to uncover all ten of the Pokemon from the starting point.
  • As you reach the last area on the main path, run a scan and throw Illumina Orbs at the Miniors that crashed down on the area.
  • On the alternate path, throw an Illumina Orb at the crystabloom multiple times until a Minior crashes down near it. Throw an Illumina Orb to uncover the Pokemon.

  • A Mandibuzz can be found perched on a rock east of the oasis area.
New Pokemon Snap MagikarpMagikarp
  • Magikarp appears after throwing a Fluffruit into the oasis.
New Pokemon Snap Lycanroc (Midnight Form)Lycanroc (Midnight Form)
  • You can find some Lycanroc on the main path near the oasis.
  • Throwing a Fluffruit repeatedly at the first one causes the Pokemon to go to the alternate route.
  • A Lycanroc appears on top of the rock after throwing a Fluffruit at the second one in the oasis area.

  • A Kangaskhan can be found looking at the night sky at the starting point.
  • Another one can be found in the oasis area.
New Pokemon Snap HippowdonHippowdon
  • A sleeping Hippowdon can be found on the left as you approach the oasis area.
  • Two of these can also be found sleeping on the alternate path near the exit point.
  • As you descend on the main path, look to your left to find a Hippowdon under a sandfall.
New Pokemon Snap CacneaCacnea
  • A pair of Cacneas appear at the starting point.
  • A single one can be found on your right on the main path near the exit point.
New Pokemon Snap SandshrewSandshrew
  • You can find a rolling Sandshrew as you turn right from the starting point.
  • Another Sandshrew can be found on your right near the rocks on the main path.
  • On the main path near the exit point, you can find a Sandshrew sitting in the middle of the area.
  • On the alternate route, you can find another Sandrew in the sandhole on the right of the two sleeping Hippowdons.
New Pokemon Snap SilicobraSilicobra
  • A Silicobra can be found sleeping near the starting point.
  • Another can be found hiding under a rock on the left near the exit point. Throw a Fluffruit at it for the Pokemon to emerge from the sand.

Near the oasis area, you can run a scan to take a Alternate Route. This leads you to the left side of the oasis and to another part of the course.

New Pokemon Snap - Sands (Night) Crystabloom1
Crystabloom 1		 You can find three Crystablooms at the start of the course. Illuminating all three causes two Minior to crash into the area.

Crystabloom 2		 You can find this Crystabloom on a cliffside to your right on the main path.
New Pokemon Snap - Sands (Night) Crystabloom3
Crystabloom 3		 A Crystabloom can be found in the middle of the oasis next to a Kangaskhan. Illuminating this flower causes the oasis to glow.
New Pokemon Snap - Sands (Night) Crystabloom4
Crystabloom 4		 As you descend down the sand on the main path, look to your right to find this glowing Crystabloom on a rock.
New Pokemon Snap - Sands (Night) Crystabloom5
Crystabloom 5		 You can find this Crystabloom at the alternate route. Throwing an Illumina Orb at it removes the twister and reveals a sleeping Tyranitar.

If you scan the tree next to the Kangaskhan, you will see a curled up Sandshrew in the hole behind him. I have spent all day searching for him. I could have cried when I realised it was that easy.

How do you get the first sandshrew on the alternate path? I know the second sandshrew is in the crater.
