How to Take Magikarp 1 Star Photo

Showing its Back Fin
To take a 1 Star Diamond photo of Magikarp, take a photo of its back or dorsal fin. To achieve this shot, go to Park (Day) research-level 3, and look for Magikarp near Bidoof's dam in the river. Focus your camera on Magikarp and find a position where Bidoof's dam is visible in the background.
Once you have the perfect angle for the shot, throw a Fluffruit at Magikarp. It will start flapping and jumping up and down. Take a photo of Magikarp jumping high in the air while the back fin is visible in the picture to achieve 1 Star Diamond.

Upside Down
In the last part of Jungle (Night), focus your camera on the river and use the Scan mode to make the Magikarps jump in the air. Take a close-up picture of Magikarp diving down back to the river to achieve 2 Star Diamond.

With Mouth Open
While passing through the small path near Bidoof's dam during Park (Night), you'll find Magikarp sleeping on a rock. Focus your camera on it and find a position where the small island is visible in the background. Ready to snap your camera and throw an Illumina Orb at Magikarp. Once you throw the orb, Magikarp will start flapping. Take plenty of shots as much as possible to achieve a photo of Magikarp with its mouth open and to get a 3 Star Diamond.
