Snowfields (Day) Walkthrough: List of Pokemon and How to Unlock

This guide will cover all of the Pokemon that can be found in Snowfields (Day) of Shiver Snowfields in New Pokemon Snap (Pokemon Snap 2) for the Nintendo Switch, as well as how to unlock the level. How to Raise Your Research Level

Pokemon Locations

Pokemon	Where to Find
Minimum Research Level 1
Furret	A few Furret can be found running around near the start of the course.
Beartic	Two Beartic can be found near the start of the course. A Beartic can be found sleeping near the end of the main course. From Research Level 2, a Beartic can be found sitting on an icy platform as you exit the cave of the second alternate path.
Swinub	A few Swinub may be seen under some trees to the right near the start of the course. If you get there fast enough, another Swinub may be found rushing to get in a small cave after climbing the snowy ramp on the main path. More Swinub can be found near the end of the main course. From Research Level 2, Swinub may also be found slowly climbing up the snowy ramp on the main path. From Research Level 3, Swinub may be seen to your right near the end of taking both alternate paths.
Skarmory	May be found flying through the sky as soon as the course starts. May also be found flying above the Mamoswine after climbing the snowy ramp in the main path. May swoop through the cave of the main path. On higher research levels, Skarmory may rest on a ledge near the Crystabloom. Can be found flying in the sky after exiting the cave on the main path. From Research Level 2, Skarmory may be found flying in the sky, after exiting the cave of the second alternate path.
Cubchoo	Can be found to your left near the start of the course. From Research Level 3, When taking both alternate paths, Cubchoo may be found next to a Mamoswine and Swinub to your right, just before the course ends. Sometimes the Mamoswine might obstruct the view of the smaller Pokemon so the timing might get tricky.
Vivillon	After climbing the snowy ramp, Tundra Pattern Vivillon may be found in the crevice along the main path. You may throw Fluffruit at it to let it come out. From Research Level 2, Polar Pattern Vivillon may be found in the cave on the second alternate path. From Research Level 3, Vivillon may be found flying in the sky, after exiting the cave of the second alternate path.
Mamoswine	After climbing the snowy ramp, a herd of Mamoswine may be found roaming on the main path. From Research Level 2, when taking both alternate paths, Mamoswine may also be found to your right, just before the course ends.
Snom	Right before you enter the cave on the main path, there is a very sharp slide down into the cave. A Snom can be found resting on one of the branches of a tree to your right, just before you slide down. You'll have to be quick and precise to take this photo. More Snom can be found at the bottom of the slide, right near the entrance of the cave on the main path. Even more Snom can be found along the path, and on the trees after taking the first alternate path. They may be a bit hard to see due to the blizzard, so using Scan can help identify where they are.
Snorunt	Can be found in the cave along the main path. From Research Level 2, Snorunt may be found in the cave of the second alternative path.
Glalie	May be found next to the Crystabloom in the cave along the main path. From Research Level 2, when taking both alternative paths, Glalie may be found to your right, near the Ancient Ruins.
Spheal	May be found playing around in the final area of the main course. From Research Level 3, Spheal may be found playing around the final area when taking both alternate paths, as well.
Magikarp	May be found in the lake after exiting the cave in the main course.
Piplup	May be found playing around in the final area of the main course. From Research Level 2, several Piplup may be found playing around the final area when taking both alternate paths, as well.
Minimum Research Level 2
Sandslash	Can be found on top of the snowy mound to your left as soon as the course starts. Can be found popping in and out of the snow in the blizzard area after taking the first alternate path. On the right side of the blizzard route, scan to find the final Sandslash just after the trees to the right. Throw an Illumina orb at it to make it stay above ground. After feeding it with fluffruit, it will then appear within the cave on the second alternate route.
Weavile	May be found inspecting trees to your right, as soon as the course starts. May also be found to your left after climbing the snowy ramp on the main path.
Frosmoth	When entering the cave on the main path, keep your eye on the ceiling near your entry point. As you approach the middle of the cave, you should spot a barely visible Frosmoth on the ceiling. From Research Level 3, may be found in the blizzard area after taking the first alternate route. Lighting up the nearby Crystabloom might help you spot it easier.
Froslass	May be found next to the Crystabloom in the cave along the main path. May also be found in the cave after taking both alternate paths.
Vulpix	May be found near the end of the main path. May also be found to your left after climbing the snowy ramp on the main path.
Abomasnow	May be found amidst the blizzard after taking the first alternate path.
Avalugg	When taking both alternative paths, may be found near the Ancient Ruins. From Research Level 3, may also be found submerged right outside of the cave when taking both alternative paths.
Vanilluxe	May be found in the cave after taking both alternative paths. From Research Level 3, may also be found escaping out the side of a cave, as part of the You Can Do It, Vanilluxe! request.
Dewgong	When taking both alternative paths, look to your left as soon as you enter the cave. Dewgong may be found swimming along the stream. When taking both alternative paths, more Dewgong may be found right outside the cave. They can be found on top of the glaciers, and swimming in the water.
Mightyena	When taking both alternative paths, a pack of Mightyena can be found in the distance after exiting the cave.
Minimum Research Level 3
Glaceon	Just before you slide down into the cave on the main path, keep your eye on the mountaintops to your left. Glaceon may be found prowling here. If you take a photo of Glaceon from this angle, she may reappear later on in the stage near the lake. If you were able to snag a photo of Glaceon before sliding down into the cave, Glaceon can again be found to your right near the end of the main course. She may be lured over to the iceberg in the middle with Fluffruit.
Crabominable	May be found in the blizzard area after taking the first alternate path. When taking both alternate paths, may also be found punching ice in the final area.

Snowfields (Day) Alternate Routes

Alternate Route 1 - Snow Wall

You can unlock the this Alternate Route by following some specific steps. Unlocking this Alternate Route also allows you to head through the same snow wall on Snowfields (Night).

How to Unlock Alternate Route 1 - Snow Wall

1		Start the course at Reseach Level 2. From the starting point, look to your left to find a Sandslash and take a photo of it.
2		Follow the Sandslash's trail and take a photo of it on a hill just above the Beartic and Cubchoo.
3		Look to your right and wait for Sandslash to reappear again. After it digs through the snow, run a scan to head through the snow to reveal the first Alternate Route.

Alternate Route 2 - Ice Cave Snow Wall

You can unlock the this Alternate Route by following some specific steps. Once you have unlocked it, you can access this snow wall leading to the ice cave in this course.

How to Unlock Alternate Route 2 - Ice Cave Snow Wall

1		After unlocking the first snow wall Alternate Route, start Snowfields (Night) and set the Research Level to 2. Follow the same route leading through a snow.
2		Throw an Illumina Orb at the Crabominable and wait for it to wake up the Abomasnow.
3		After the Abomasnow wakes up, look above and take a photo of Froslass as soon as it appears.
4		Run a scan and take the second Alternate Route to head through the snow.

Message from a Friend Research Lv. 3	Lead the Weavile to the tree with markings on it with Fluffruit. Throw an Illumina Orb at Weavile and the tree, then snap a photo of it reading the markings. Message from a Friend Walkthrough
Dig Here, Swinub! Research Lv. 3	Use Fluffruit to lead the Swinub at the end of the course near the Crystalbloom. Throw an Illumina Orb at the Crystalbloom, then take a picture when Swinub rides the hot spring. Reward: Emote 10 Dig Here, Swinub! Walkthrough
The Wrath of Mamoswine Research Lv. 3	Get the Weavile to read the markings on the tree. Hit the Swinup atop the hill with a Fluffruit, then throw an Illumina Orb at the Weavile who chase after it. Get a photo of the Mamoswine counterattacking. The Wrath of Mamoswine Walkthrough

In the Blizzard Research Lv. 3	Take the branching path, and get a photo of the three Snoms. Throw an illumina orb at the crystabloom to make a Frosmoth appear, then hit it with an illumina orb. When all four Snoms become visible at once, take a picture of them together. In the Blizzard Walkthrough
It Jumped Out at Me! Research Lv. 3	Take the branching path. Look to the left side, and use Scan around the third tree, and you should see a ??? in the background. Fidgety Snorunt Research Lv. 3	Throw a Fluffruit at an icicle on the ceiling in the cave to bring it down. Take a picture of the Snorunt getting excited at seeing this. Fidgety Snorunt Walkthrough

You Can Do It, Vanilluxe! Research Lv. 3	Take the branching paths and head to the ice cave. Play the Melody near Glalie and throw an Illumina Orb at it. You can find the location of the Ancient Ruins inside the ice cave. After entering the second Branchiing Route, look left and run a scan to find this object of interest.
