Tropon, a witch forced to hide her identity, survives by tricking people, particularly the followers of the Church of Longinus. Fueled to escape her miserable life, she sets her sights on the most powerful witch in the Holy See. Undercover as a pilgrim, Tropon joins a group of kind and selfless pilgrims, initially annoyed by their unwavering goodness. Their genuine compassion and selflessness begin to chip away at Tropon's hardened exterior, causing unexpected pangs of guilt.
This internal struggle intensifies when she's forced to use magic to save the pilgrims from a monstrous creature, fearing exposure. Despite revealing her true nature, the pilgrims remain supportive, which confused, and frustrated Tropon. Arrested after using magic, she's unexpectedly saved by the Duke of Fran. While this lord's unwavering belief in the goodness of others annoys her, she can't help but acknowledge a flicker of something she thought she'd lost – a sliver of hope for a different kind of life.

| Can you believe it? This country's controlled entirely by that witch's power. So I had a thought— if I had that witch's power, maybe I could escape from this miserable life of mine. People always say there's no time like the present, so I went undercover as a pilgrim and headed for the Holy See, where that witch was apparently being held. One the way, a group of poor pilgrims befriended me. I thought myself lucky at first, but they turned out to be much more of a nuisance than anything. |

Just when I thought I'd finally be able to get away from them... But those guys... As I was tied up and pulled away, they said "thank you" to me. You idiots... I fooled all of you, you know. I was thrown in jail, which I thought to be quite the fitting end for a liar like me. But for some reason, here I am now, safely smelling the fresh air from outside the prison walls. |

Why is God mad at them? I don't quite get it all... but I gotta do my best to make my sickness go away. Taking after my mom and dad, every night before bed, I prayed to the stars. | Then one day, Dad came home with a huge smile on his face. "The Church taught me a way to turn a witch back into a human!" "There's no need to worry, dear. You leave the rest to your mom and dad!" Dad sounded so happy... but I had a really bad feeling about it all. My chest felt so tight...like it was telling me not to listen to the Church. That it would all be one big mistake. But, Mom and Dad are doing all this for me. There's no way I can tell them to stop. Leaving things be, my mom and dad did as the Church told them to and offered up everything we had. Our house, our clothes, everything... But, my sickness showed no signs of getting better. |

| There was a strange world on the other side of the hole, and in it...was Daddy. But, he got really surprised when I called him that... I don't get why, though. Men are "Daddy," and women are "Mommy." From then on, I started talking with Daddy every day. Though for some reason, a mommy with thorns is with him today. "Hey you. Just whose child are you?" Huh? I'm Mom and Dad's child... I wonder why she's asking... Oh, I know! Since we're doing introductions, I'll also introduce Pon Pon! "My mom gave me this bear! It's my treasure!"
