If you're a returning player in MementoMori, now is the perfect time to jump back in with new features and powerful witches. Read on to find out what's changed in MementoMori and how returning players can make the most of their comeback.
List of Contents

MementoMori's 2nd Anniversary has come and gone, but along with it came various quality-of-life fixes, new witches, and even a new game mode.
So, if you left the game a while ago, it may be a good time to go into battle with your witches again. There are plenty of new features, including a way to finally test characters with friends, as well as many new units that could be good additions to your teams.

If you want to know how powerful a new witch is, or how a certain witch would work with your team, then you will be able to test them with Friend Battles.
As long as you keep in contact with a friend in MementoMori, Friend Battles are very customizable. Equip your witches with your gear or use the gear you locked them with in Battle League. Have your friend use a certain witch in their defense team and fight them, then return the favor by helping them test out their own setups. Remember that the higher your VIP level, the more Friend Battles you can do in a day.

Roles in Guilds are now more defined. There's no longer just the Guild Master, but four other positions for grabs: Master, Chief, Commanders, and Veterans. All of them have their own role in the guild, with Masters being able to invite players directly to join.
If you've recently played MementoMori again, try to either join a Guild or ask one of your friends to have you invited to their Guild (though make sure you are playing on the same server and the same world).

The game has also seen smaller but equally useful quality-of-life updates. Weekly Topics shows you the most powerful characters used by players that week, the top players in the Battle League, top players that have cleared the Main Quest, as well as an item shop that sells various upgrade materials and gear pieces for Diamonds.
Meanwhile, if you need to raise your Level Link level, you can now awaken certain R characters all the way to LR rarity. And if you've been buying a lot of consumable items, you can use them all at once with the new Bulk Use feature (no more having to crack open all the 2 hrs/8 hrs/24 hrs EXP and Kindling Orbs by variant!).
Here are other useful QoL features that have been added to the game since the 2nd Anniversary:

Though MementoMori's new units are not meta-defining, some of them are quite powerful in certain situations. Meria, the unit that came out during the 2nd Anniversary, gives all her allies a 10% SPD buff as long as three of them are of the same soul type. Meanwhile, Festive Natasha is a very powerful Chaos unit that goes well with another Chaos attacker (Illya's God's Curse version).
Other units like Eureka, Winter Soltina, Winter Lunalynn, Eirene, and Tillie have their own niches.
Eureka is a debuff cleanser, while Winter Soltina buffs her team's main attacker while cleansing any debuffs she gets, Winter Lunalynn decreases damage dealt by the enemy, Eirene is good to have for the Tower of Infinity and the Main Quest, and Tillie has loads of HP. Meanwhile, units like Artoria work well with existing units such as Morgana.

If you've only recently returned to playing MementoMori, these rewards are perfect for making your current witches more powerful and getting non-limited SR witches you might've missed the first time you played.

The Comeback Missions have many rewards for simply logging in and doing daily and weekly missions. Those EXP Orbs, Kindling Orbs, and Growth Sets will be useful in making your witches more powerful. Plus, the Comeback Missions only last for 9 days after your first returning log-in, so clear them as soon as possible to get all the rewards.

If you're a relatively new player who dropped MementoMori, clearing the Cave of Space-Time should be one of your priorities once you start playing again. The Cave of Space-Time gives out Space-Time Coins that you can use to buy copies of non-limited witches. These non-limited witches like Cordie and Amleth will most likely be your first LR rarity units, which you will need later to raise your Level Link once you unlock the Party Level Link feature.
Consistently beating the Cave of Space-Time should give you one to two free copies a month, so get started so you can start farming those copies as soon as possible. You might even get more, as MementoMori will give you a 240% Catch-Up bonus whenever you miss out on playing an iteration of the Cave of Space-Time.

MementoMori is the kind of game where you will find yourself stuck at certain points for a while, but every little effort eventually contributes to a big breakthrough. Even the simple act of logging in, claiming your login bonus and main quest rewards, and closing the game still goes toward making your characters powerful enough to eventually clear a certain stage in the Main Quest or rise through the ranks in the Battle League.
Doing your daily missions, clearing the Cave of Space-Time, and other daily tasks shouldn't take more than 15 to 30 minutes every day. So if you're a returning player, you might want to set aside that much time each day for the game, perhaps during a morning commute or any kind of downtime. Getting yourself into the habit of playing the game daily can go a long way to building a strong account.
