D.D. Analysis

Powerful Support With Tanking Capabilities

D.D. is MementoMori's 2.5 Anniversary Unit, and she does not disappoint. She is an Emerald support with powerful buffs and debuffs, while also having very good defense and survivability.

D.D. has a 70% chance of inflicting one of the strongest debuffs in the game, Fainted, on the highest HP enemy unit with her Rust Reaver skill. This causes an enemy to skip the turns where they are afflicted by this, buying your units time to deal even more damage, cast abilities, and receive no damage from the Fainted unit. When successful, this is huge considering that the target of this debuff would likely be the enemy team's carry.

D.D. boasts extremely good defense, thanks to a non-dispellable crit resistance buff worth 15% that she grants to herself and 2 adjacent allies, which is excellent given how dominant crits are in this game. She also has a 70% chance to reduce the targets of her Rust Reaver skill's chance to deal a crit by 30%, further improving her resistance against crits. However, what makes her truly tanky is her 100% max HP buff paired with a 50% cut to all damage she takes. This damage cut buff is increased to 70% when the attacker has a lower SPD stat than D.D.

Once Turn 7 comes along, when D.D. uses her Eye of Corrosion skill, she'll increase the ATK of the 2 allies with the highest ATK by 50% for 5 turns, which grants them a huge increase in power. While not a lot of units are capable of lasting that long in battle, D.D. sure is, given her potent defensive buffs that we just discussed above.

Does Not Deal Damage, Dispellable Debuffs

While her utility, defense, and late-game damage buffs are extremely potent, D.D. isn't a perfect unit. One weakness is that she doesn't deal plenty of damage, which is alright since she wasn't designed to be an attacker anyway.

However, one weakness that is quite hard to overlook is that her Fainted debuff is dispellable. This means that when it is cleansed before the affected witch goes through her turn, it would be as if nothing happened.

The targeting of her 30% crit rate reduction debuff is totally random, so there's plenty of uncertainty regarding who will be affected by this debuff. It may get wasted on units who don't do well with crit damage, while leaving the actual crit-based threats unaffected.

Other than these, D.D. does not really have any more weaknesses, which goes to show how good of a witch D.D. is.

Worth Picking Up

It's hard to ignore what D.D. brings to the table when deployed in a party, so try not to miss out on this well-rounded utility tank. If you're running a team made to delay battles and win in the late game, D.D. will probably fit very well with your team given her 50% damage buff with her Eye of Corrosion skill.

D.D. is also an Emerald soul witch, so she'll synergize well with other Emerald soul witches, and will be usable in the Emerald Tower of Infinity. She'll do well with Fia given that they're both units meant to withstand the early game damage they take while dominating the later rounds. Moreover, because she's an Emerald soul witch, Awakening D.D. won't nearly be as hard as Awakening Chaos and Radiance units.

Overall, D.D. is a powerful support with both offensive and defensive buffs and debuffs, while also having top-tier defense thanks to potent defensive buffs.

D.D. Best Runes

More SPD For Better Damage Resistance

D.D.'s most important rune is SPD, as she receives even less damage from enemy units who are not faster than her. Having SPD runes increases her odds of being faster than her opponents. Other offensive runes include MAG, which increases her damage, M. DEF, and Debuff ACC, Debuff ACC to give her better odds of inflicting Fainted on her enemies, and PM. DEF BREAK (or ATK if you can't afford spare PMDB runes) to increase her damage.

As for defensive runes, opt for HP, STA, and CRIT RES to make her even harder to kill. Her last defensive rune slot can be used for P. DEF, M. DEF, or Debuff RES depending on the matchup.

Level 3 (Unlocks by level 101) Additionally, if this skill activates on the 7th turn and onwards, before dealing the magical attacks, increases the ATK of the 2 allies with the highest ATK by 50% for 5 turns. Level 4 (Unlocks by level 181) The magical attacks’ damage becomes equal to 530% of her ATK.
