In MementoMori's early game, getting Cordie or Florence at the start can affect how fast you progress and unlock content. But what if you don't have them at the start? Read our guide to learn what you can do in case this happens.
List of Contents
Having the right characters when you start your playthrough of MementoMori can decide how fast or slow you will progress through the early part of the game. Emerald Soul witch Cordie and Azure Soul witch Florence are the most popular choices because they have high damage potential and remain useful until the later stages of the main quest (and even PVP in Cordie's case).
But since MementoMori is a gacha game, there's a good chance that, despite getting all the Diamonds you can gather in the shortest amount of time, you won't end up with either Cordie or Florence and get other witches instead. In our guide, we will show you what you can do to remedy this.
The second easiest solution to not having Cordie and Florence is rerolling your account. You will have to aim for at least one copy of Cordie/Florence, plus one or two supports (either Mimi or Primavera, or both if you are really lucky).
The problem with rerolling, however, is that it takes time. MementoMori's tutorial is unskippable for new accounts, which means you will have to play until Quest 2-2 to be able to start gathering and spending your free pulls at the Prayer of the Cursed banner. This process can take anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes, which can get tedious for some players.
Still, rerolling is free and is relatively easy to get going. You will just need to expend time instead to get the right units at the start.
If you didn't get Cordie or Florence, but got units like Rean, Amleth, Sabrina, or even Amour, you could also consider sticking with those witches and grinding until you clear Quest 2-4, which unlocks the Cave of Space-Time. Through this mode, you can earn enough Space-Time Coins to buy a copy of Cordie from the Shop.
The issue with this method is that you will have to grind up to a month (maybe less) to get the 120,000 Space-Time Coins needed to get a copy of Cordie. You will also have to reset the character you've been using as a main attacker and transfer all their resources to Cordie instead, and they may or may not remain useful through the rest of the Main Quest.
Still, this method gives you some progress through the Main Quest, and once you get a copy of Cordie you will have an easier time getting through it.
How to Clear the Cave of Space-Time Trial
In case you end up with no useful SR witches at all (maybe you ended up with just Ivy or maybe Ivy and Freesia, or Hathor), you can consider the last and easiest option: availing MementoMori's "1st Purchase Bonus."
It is essentially a pack of 3 days' worth of gifts that will come along with whatever Diamond Pack you buy from the Premier Gifts shop. Most importantly, it gives you two copies of Amleth, who may not be the best main attacker in the game but deals good damage nonetheless. Once you get her, you can do method number two and try getting Cordie that way.
To get the 1st Purchase Bonus, simply buy the cheapest Diamond Pack, "Diamond Pack 80," in the Premier Gifts Shop on the left-hand corner of the Home Screen. The only caveat with this method is that you will have to spend some money. But if you don't mind, then congratulations - you've salvaged what would've been a sub-optimal account for progressing through the early stages of the game.
