Ma...I finally did it. I protected everyone...- Sabrina
Sabrina, a soldier haunted by a traumatic past, struggles to overcome her fear of firearms. Training rigorously yet failing to improve, she confronts the source of her anxiety. Flashbacks take her back to her childhood in a borderland village. Initially excited by the arrival of the Knights of Longinus, her world shatters as they brand her people witches and burn them alive, including her own mother. The screams and burning flesh become a recurring nightmare, triggered by the smell of gunpowder and the act of aiming a weapon.
Despite the crippling fear, Sabrina finds a new purpose. The camaraderie with her fellow soldiers and the duty to protect them ignite a will to fight. As the sole survivor of her unit, she faces the enemy, her past trauma threatening to paralyze her. But a surge of strength fueled by the memory of her fallen comrades allows her to pull the trigger, successfully defending herself and honoring her loved ones. This victory doesn't erase her anxieties but empowers her to face them head-on. Sabrina vows to continue the fight, standing strong alongside the lingering fear, for she knows she's not alone and dares to overcome.
Ahh, I won. I won against...myself...- Summer Sabrina
A relaxing trip to the lake with the children under her care takes a dark turn for Sabrina. Moddey, one of the witches under the Duke's guidance, throws a tantrum when Sabrina tries to help her with swimming. This seemingly trivial incident triggers a memory of a past trauma for Sabrina – the witch hunt that took her mother's life. The memory paralyzes Sabrina, leaving her unable to act as a monstrous creature appears before the younger witches.
Just as despair sets in, Moddey unexpectedly steps up. Her words urge Sabrina to act and remind her of her responsibility towards her comrades, which reawakens Sabrina's resolve. With a newfound light emanating from her hand, symbolizing her inner strength, Sabrina confronts the creature and dispels the illusion. The victory over the creature also represents her triumph over her own trauma. While the memory remains a painful scar, Sabrina finds the courage to move forward, drawing strength from her bond with the children and her newfound power.
Sabrina's personality is defined by both resilience and vulnerability. She is driven by a strong sense of duty, as she was relentless in training to overcome her fears and protect those entrusted to her care. However, since she carries a traumatic past, this triggers her self-doubt and paralyzes her in moments of crisis.
Sabrina also possesses a deep well of compassion, finding strength and motivation in the camaraderie with her fellow soldiers and the younger witches she looks after. This reliance on her connections highlights her growth as she overcomes her past and embraces her inner strength, symbolized by her newfound power.
Chapter 1 |
---|
10, 20, 30... Not a single shot I fired hit its mark. Despite all my training, day in and day out, I see no improvement. Why? It's enough to make anyone begin to doubt themselves. Losing out to my own frustration, I pounded on the table in anger. The sudden commotion shook a nearby officer abruptly from his daydream, but I paid no mind. I hate using firearms. The world I see as I focus my eyes over the barrel, the smell of gunpowder wafting under my nose— It all reminds me of that day. |
Chapter 2 |
---|
When I was young, I lived in a village out on the borderlands. It was a dull sort of place, nothing much to it. A childhood spent between tiring farm chores and dreadful boredom. So when I heard news that knights from the Church of Longinus would be paying us a visit, I nearly leapt with joy. As a child, I fantasized about joining those holy knights on their Witch Hunts. "Hey Ma, you think they'll tell me 'bout their adventures?" Seeing me restless and excited, my mother simply smiled. |
Chapter 3 |
---|
Then the day came, and the Knights arrived. The sight of them, looking down from high atop their horses, adorned in their glistening armor, was simply overwhelming. Not one of us could speak. My excitement gave way to awe. Finally, one of those knights I had so long adored broke the silence. "We have word there is a witch among you." And just like that, it all began. |
Chapter 4 |
---|
I looked on as the people I had grown up with were dragged away, tossed into a raging fire in the town square. One after another, they burned, until it was my own mother's turn... She called out to me... Screaming through the flames and the smoke and the pain. Again and again and again... I don't remember much after that. But the scene remained seared in my mind from that day on... |
Chapter 5 |
---|
The memories traumatized me. The smell of burning flesh and sounds of death and torment haunted me, shackling me from moving forward. And they all come roaring back every time I pull the trigger... But now I've found something to live for. For the drowsy officer there on the training range. For my fellow soldiers. I need to overcome my past to defend them. It is for them I choose to wield my weapon. |
Chapter 6 |
---|
At last, the time has come— the battlefield awaits. Everything is different from that fateful day. My comrades...My enemy... But, I know what I must do. That hasn't changed. I march into battle to fight for my comrades, and to protect the citizens. But, my anxiety and my trauma still torment me like shackles... Do I have what it takes to pull the trigger without hesitation? Without fear? Will my anxiety bring misfortune to my comrades--to him? That was my only concern. |
Chapter 7 |
---|
My comrades are hurt, and the enemies close in... I'm the only one left. My unit...has fallen. I had to do something... Then, I felt a warm light radiating from behind me. He, and all my new friends were smiling at me. That's right—I'm not alone. We all fight for the same ambitions... Now's the time! I pulled the trigger. The bullet flew straight...towards the enemy... piercing through him! Ma...I finally did it. I protected everyone... My fears have yet to disappear, and I'm certain they will continue to haunt me relentlessly. Thus...I swear to stand alongside those fears and continue to fight to break these shackles. I'm stronger now, so...I know I'll be okay. |
Chapter 1 |
---|
...What should I do? In an effort to rejuvenate our strength, everyone came to the lake to play, but... "I can do the doggy paddle, y'know! I don't need your help, you dummy! You big, blue DUMMY!" After saying that, Moddey cried and fled from my sight. The doggy paddle? All she did was cling to me though... ...At times like this, Sophia and Valeriede would undoubtedly know the best course of action. ...I truly have no idea what to do. |
Chapter 2 |
---|
I was also nervous when I first experienced water, but I learned there was no need to feel frightened. Even Cerberus is over there enjoying herself, jumping and splashing about... But, everyone here is smaller and younger than I am. As the one entrusted by the Duke to take charge of everyone, I must do something for them. That's it. I'll start by helping them get accustomed to the water. The best remedy for alleviating fear is play. Bearing that in mind, I took Moddey towards the area of water where everyone was playing... "N-No, get the heck away from me! Anything but water... Anything!" Moddey then ran away as fast as her legs could carry her. Why in the world would she...? |
Chapter 3 |
---|
Moddey hates me. I thought she was having fun in the water with everyone. Nina was going "Yah!" and Sonya was yelling "Here I go!" Maybe Cerberus overdid it with "Kaboom!" though... ...What should I do? Before I knew it, everyone returned to the lake, and resumed playing in the water. Moddey stayed some distance away, keeping her eyes on everyone... I knew it—she wants to join them. As the one in charge of these children, I...! Suddenly I heard screams coming from the lake. My eyes dashed to the direction of the voices. There I saw the children cowering in the water, and a cursed creature standing atop the water's surface. That must be what's scaring the children...! The Duke entrusted them to me. I must carry out my mission...! |
Chapter 4 |
---|
Before I could do anything, the creature roared, and the entire area was covered in fog. I have a bad feeling about this... The same as I felt back then. When the Knights' bloodlust consumed by entire village. When...the Witch Hunt began. By the time I felt something was amiss, I was already too late... and because of me, Ma was... "...Sabrina." That voice... No, it can't be possible. After all, she... My mother emerged from within the fog. Her smile was warm and gentle, just as how I remembered it... But in the next instant, her body was engulfed in flames. "...Save me, Sabrina." As those words leave my mother's mouth, she reaches her burnt hand out to me... No... This is an illusion, not my mother. But... "...I see. Once again, all you're doing is watching while I burn, aren't you?" ...That's right. That day, all I did was watch as the flames swallowed my mother alive... |
Chapter 5 |
---|
That day, I could do nothing as my mother was tossed into the raging fire. Nothing... Even as she called out my name again and again... My past still has me in its chains. Everything I witnessed that day flashed into my mind, paralyzing my body. I can't run to my mother, let alone reach out towards her... I still am, and always will be, that powerless little girl... "Sabrina!" Suddenly, Moddey called out my name. I look and see her in the lake, despite her hating it so much... "Your mother's resting peacefully. If the same thing happened to you, you'll make her so worried she'll jump straight out of her grave." "Go on, show her. Show her who you are now...!" Moddey's right. I'm no longer that powerless little girl. I am Sabrina. Comrade to the Duke—to everyone! Reach out. Step forward! Your comrades are counting on you... Move! In that moment, I found a strange light shining in my hand. Is this...a new power? |
Chapter 6 |
---|
Ever since that fateful day, my past refused to unbind me from its chains. But...even with the way I am now... I have comrades who depend on me— who believe in me. That's why...! The light in my hand dispelled the flames that blocked my path. This time, I will save everyone! With one leap forward, I took hold of my mother's outstretched hand. I will never forget that day for the rest of my life. It will live on inside me, becoming my curse. Even so... "Just remembering that day had always frightened me. But, not anymore. I will live on bearing this scar. So please...rest in peace, Ma." |
Chapter 7 |
---|
With one last warm smile, the illusion of my mother vanished. ...Goodbye, Ma. I'll keep moving forward with my comrades at my side. After bidding my mother farewell deep within my heart, I raised my head and focused on the remaining enemy. I quickly draw my sword and tear apart the blockade of illusions before me, clearing my path. I dash full speed ahead... towards the creature... piercing through it! ...Haaaah!! As if bursting like a bubble, the cursed creature vanished into the air, lifting the fog from the area. Ahh, I won. I won against...myself... The light that now dwells in my hand is proof of that. Around me, the children regained their sense and began to move. Thank goodness. Everyone appears to be unharmed. "You did great, Moddey." Hearing those words, Moddey looked proud of herself. "Didja expect anything less from me?" she said. "By the way, Moddey. You don't seem to bothered being this deep in the water. It looks like you've overcome your fear." "...Ah... Ahhhhh...! Just as I thought—I can't do water...! Lailaaa! Saaave meee!!" To think she can run around in the lake with that much energy... With how quickly she's grown, it looks like she has much to teach me too. |

Home 8 | Tremors... I should be accustomed to battle by now, yet here I am...trembling. Please, stand by my side and help me face my fears. |

Home 10 | You truly have some fine companions, sir... I only hope you count me among them. |
Home 11 | I used to find myself frozen on the battle field, terrified of losing those I cherished. But not anymore. No, because I... I know you'll never die. |
Home 12 | After the death of my mother, I couldn't bear the thought of losing anyone else I held dear. But I now know that you will return from any hardship. You've helped me move beyond my fear, sir... Thank you. |
Awakening 1 | I may not be able to free myself from my past, but I can still work toward a brighter future. |

Awakening 6 | Sir...you took me in and placed your trust in me from the very start. You have in me an unwavering ally, ready to face whatever hardships await. And above that...you have my gratitude. |
Victory | Now then, who's next? |
Defeat | I was petrified... How humiliating... |
Skill 1 | This ends here! |
Skill 2 | Dauntless spirits, grant me strength! |
Login 1 | Ah, the wind feels quite pleasant... |
---|---|
Login 2 | We've had quite the long vacation, sir. Have you had your fill? or, would you like to relax a little longer here with me? |
Home 1 | Have you done your warming-up exercises? Tediousness is no excuse for skipping them. You'll be out of your element in the water, after all. |
Home 2 | Ah, sir. Have you seen Moddey? Apparently she's never been in the water before, so I thought it would be best to teach her how to swim...but any moment I try to get her under the water, she ends up running away... I do hope she can overcome this predicament... |
Home 3 | Sir... I've heard this entire stretch of land belongs to Primavera, but is that true? I did have the impression she was a lady of prestige...but certainly not to this extent... |
Home 4 | Fatigue's written all over your face, sir. Is it from accompanying the children? Their energy can indeed keep one's hands full. Take this opportunity to rest. I'll see to the children in your stead. |
Home 5 | Pardon me, sir, but... are you fine being here with me? Surely there must be others you would rather spend time with... I see... No, it's nothing. I just never thought there'd come a day where you and I could relax and just listen to the sound of the wind... Hehe. You've given me a memory I'll always treasure. |
Home 6 | So, today's your birthday. Ah, yes—supposedly there's a cafe up ahead with a view of the whole lake. Its beautiful sunset makes lovers from far and wide see it as a sacred place, and any two who go together are bound to get marr...ah... Th-That wasn't my intention. My apologies. |
Home 7 | This outfit, sir? I bought it from Richesse. If I'm not mistaken, it's called a "swimsuit." and can be used for underwater operations... If you're interested in one, I recommend seeing Richesse. She had a wide selection to choose from. |
Home 8 | Ah, sir... here you are. Um... If you have a moment, why don't we relax and have a chat? We should take it easy now before this chance passes us by... |
Home 9 | Is there anything you have trouble dealing with, sir? There's nothing like that for me, per se, but there are things I must conquer. Flames, the strench of gunpowder... All these things, I must eventually overcome. Afterall, my mother doesn't wish for me to just cry and do nothing. |
Home 10 | You said we came here to rejuvenate our strength, but are you getting proper rest, sir? We need to spend times like this wisely on ourselves. Don't simply idle about—rest until you feel completely refreshed. Even my drowsy commanding officer often said refreshing oneself is important work. |
Home 11 | Moddey ran away gain. What exactly am I doing wrong? I even tried adopting soft, gentle tone Valeriede uses when speaking to Nina, like, "See, there's nothing to be scared about. Come on now." ...Hm? This is how Valeriede always speaks to Nina. |
Home 12 | Once we finish our vacation, our fight will resume. Does that worry me? Not in the slightest... If I were alone, the illusions of my past would likely still be haunting me... but now I have comrades who I must protect. I'll show you I can grow even stronger, so that one day, I can protect you too... |
Awakening 1 | This is... my new power... |
Awakening 2 | I may have overcome my trauma... but this new me still has plenty growing up to do. |
Awakening 3 | Aversions and shortcomings—no one understands them better than I do. It certainly would be upsetting if someone else lectured me about what to do about mine... just like what I did to Moddey... I owe her an apology... |
Awakening 4 | I thought I'd made Moddy angry with me, but apparently I was reading everything the wrong way. Well, it's true that I offended her to some extent... but I also caused you to worry. Forgive me. |
Awakening 5 | For my first time taking charge of others, I barely kept myself together... The experience has made me more sympathetic towards the hardships you face. It must've been hard for my commanding officer too. It truly was trying... One became lost again, and again, and... Huh? She's a special case? |
Awakening 6 | A witch's power comes from the heart. There are memories that shackle me... My mother vanishing into the flames, the screams of souls being burned alive... The moment I decided to bear those shackles and move forward, a new power awakened within me... With this power, I know I can protect my comrades, and you. |
Victory | Behold, my new power! |
Defeat | I'm the one to blame... Forgive me. |
Skill 1 | Keep your hands offf my comrades! |
Skill 2 | An attack like that won't work on me anymore! |
