Best Teams (PvP) Explained

Party 1 - Nina Team Comp (No Limited SRs)

Character Role
MementoMori - Merlyn IconMerlyn Buffer
• One of the best support units in the game, Merlyn will buff your Nina's ATK by 30%. Speed-tuning her properly by making her move before Nina will increase her lethality significantly.
• She also can remove any buffs from enemy witches, weakening them.
MementoMori - Nina IconNina Attacker / Debuffer
• Nina may not be a spectacular unit in PvE, but she shines a lot more in PvP. Her high EVD makes her nearly impossible to hit even by attackers like Cordie and Florence. In return, she deals damage to an entire enemy party with one attack, and may even take them all out if given enough PM Def Break runes.
• With Dian in tow, she will evade most attacks sent her way, enabling her to outlast most enemies she faces in PvP. As long as the stat difference between her and her enemies isn't too large, she'll win most battles by never getting hit.
• On top of all this is her ability to steal dispel an enemy's buff and take it for her own. This means she can have access to ATK boosts, invulnerability, and many other buffs without the 'cannot be dispelled' tag.
MementoMori - Dian IconDian Buffer
• Dian is useful because of her passive, Heart of Servitude, which gives an up to 50% EVD boost to the witch with the highest ATk in your party - which should be Nina. Combined with Nina's own EVD buffs, this comes out to an 80% EVD boost, which makes her very difficult to hit.
MementoMori - Amleth IconAmleth Tank / Attacker
• One drawback to Nina is that she can't break through multi-barriers on her own, putting her at a disadvantage against Soltina and similar witches. To counter this, you can slot in Amleth, Florence, or any other DPS that can break through multi-barriers. We only chose Amleth because her invulnerability buff allows her to draw more enemy attacks away from Nina.
MementoMori - Primavera IconPrimavera Buffer
• Another support witch we brought in to help deal with Soltina. Place Primavera in front of an enemy Soltina and watch her tear that multi-barrier apart.
• She also gives the rest of the party nice ATK and SPD buffs with her skill 'Songstress’s Gospel'.

A PvP Team for the Player on a Budget

If you want an entry-level team without pulling for any limited SRs early on, you can go for a team consisting of Nina as your main attacker, as well as Merlyn, Dian, Amleth, and Primavera. The party revolves around Nina, who will be your main damage dealer; everyone else is on the team to support her in some way. The most important of these supports are Merlyn and Amleth, who boost her ATK and EVD stats respectively.

This party should give you decent results in PvP, especially in newer worlds where the leading players are not too far ahead of those who have just started. As long as there isn't that big of a stat difference between your Nina and the opposing team's witches, you'll win most of the time and rarely get hit.

Party 2 - Nina Party Comp (With Limited SRs)

Character Role
MementoMori - Nina IconNina Attacker
• Just like with our previous setup, Nina will still be one of your main witches in the party - mainly because of how she can dodge with her high EVD stats, taking attention away from the other members of this party. She's still a great unit in her own right, even when she's surrounded by other potentially more potent attackers.
MementoMori - Dian IconDian Buffer
• Dian here will serve the same role she had in the previous party as well: to buff Nina's EVD stat.
MementoMori - Stella IconStella Attacker / Debuffer
• Stella is a unique unit in that though her skills aren't impressive in PvE, in PvP she becomes a bit deadlier with her single-target attack that inflicts damage equal to 1200% of her ATK, as well as another attack can inflict Silence on up to two enemies (provided that she has a higher STR stat than they do).
MementoMori - Artie IconArtie Attacker / Debuffer
• Another attacker and debuffer, Artie can decrease the enemy's M. DEF for up to 4 turns, leaving them vulnerable to her attacks and that of Rusalka's.
• She can also clean up after the other attackers in your team by killing any enemies that have lower HP than her with her Sword of Calamity skill.
MementoMori - Rusalka IconRusalka Attacker / Debuffer
• What's special about Rusalka as an attacker is her PM. Def Break buff, which kicks in once her HP is below 30% (50% if you get her to level 221). The Def Break stat allows your witches to deal massive damage by offsetting the damage reduction of the enemy's Physical and Magical DEF stats.
• Aside from that, she also debuffs the enemy's ATK, making their attacks weaker and prolonging the life of your party by receiving less damage.

A Team for Medium Spenders and Those Who Haven’t Gotten Fia Yet

This party is still centered around Nina doing the most damage, but we have three limited SRs you can take along with low investment: Stella, Artie, and Rusalka. Stella is a single-target attacker that will defeat any enemy if she's decently geared up, though you'll want her more for her Silence debuff (just make sure to raise her STR stat with runes), while Artie debuffs the enemy team's M. DEF, opening them up to attacks from Rusalka.

Rusalka's a bit special in that she can revive herself after being defeated and receive a pretty big PM. Def Break boost that will allow her to deal a lot of damage to the enemy party. She also debuffs their ATK stats, which could prolong the life of the witches in your party.

Party 3 - Fia Party Comp (With Limited SR Units)

Character Role
MementoMori - Rusalka IconRusalka Attacker / Debuffer
• Just like in our previous party, Rusalka will debuff the enemy's ATK while dealing damage through her PM. Def Break buffs, making her decent for PvP with low investment.
• She'll be better once you get her Unique Weapon since its fully-awakened form will give Rusalka a 30% SPD buff at the first turn, giving her a first-shot advantage. But then, at this point, you should raise her rarity and make her your main (or at least second) attacker.
MementoMori - Nina IconNina Attacker / Debuffer
• Nina will still be one of the main attackers in your party, though she'll step aside for the main damage dealer Fia. Instead, you'll be having her along to evade attacks and steal buffs from the enemy while dealing some decent hits.
MementoMori - Fia IconFia Attacker
• Fia is a special kind of unit in that she's very powerful in PvP, but only once you've put the time and resources into building her as a unit. That means getting her to LR+5 rarity, as well as getting her unique weapon, the Helpless Ingot.
• Not only does she have self-sustaining abilities with her HP drain and HP-related buffs, but she'll get deadlier and deadlier as the battle goes on because of her second active skill, Grim Retribution. It deals up to 20 percent of the total damage she's taken up to when she's used it. So as long as Fia's alive by the sixth, seventh, or eighth turn, she'll outright defeat up to three of her enemies if she's taken enough damage.
MementoMori - Artie IconArtie Debuffer
• Like in our previous party comp, Artie will act both as an executioner, as well as a debuffer that will open up enemies to attacks from Rusalka by debuffing their M. DEF.
MementoMori - Stella IconStella Debuffer
• Stella is still in this party because of her ability to inflict Silence on your enemies, aside from her other abilities. Gearing her up correctly can make her a great single-target executioner because of her 'Unleash the Evil Eye' skill.

A Team for Those Who Want To Climb the Ranks Fast

If you are serious about climbing the ranks in MementoMori's Battle League (especially since it gives out a lot of free Diamonds the higher up you go), getting Fia and investing in her is your best bet in doing that. Her gimmick is that she retaliates with all the damage she gets from enemies while tanking those hits with her HP drain and other HP buffs.

This means if your enemy throws so much damage at your party and Fia is still standing, then up to three witches in the enemy's party will definitely be defeated. Fia is a unit that actually turns dealing the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of time counter-intuitive for the enemy party, making her threatening to team comps that rely on burst damage but are not able to take her out immediately.

Party 4 - PvP Defense Party

Character Role
MementoMori - Amour IconAmour Tank / Debuffer
• Amour's job here is to act both as a tank as well as a debuffer that will inflict blight on the enemy party.
MementoMori - Amleth IconAmleth Tank / Retaliator
• In case the party still gets wiped, Amleth will retaliate with her Fulfiller of Oaths, Ray of Light, and Crystal Breaker skills.
MementoMori - Nina IconNina Tank / Attacker
• Nina is valuable in this kind of setup because how she boosts her EVD while being tanky at the same time, giving her much space to avoid damage while hurting the enemy. If you boost her ATK with runes, Dian will be able to boost Nina's EVD even more, making her nearly impossible to hit.
MementoMori - Dian IconDian Buffer
• Dian's main use here will be to boost Nina's EVD so she can evade damage while attacking the enemy party.
MementoMori - Freesia IconFreesia Buffer / Healer
• Have Freesia in your party, not so much for her healing skill, but for the up to 15% EVD buff and damage cut she gives out to her allies with her skill Rainbow Wind.

Party Description

This party is the antithesis of the PvP Attack Party - a group of witches that will last as long as possible while whittling the attacking party down in turn. Nina will be your main attacker, with Dian and Freesia supporting her with EVD buffs. In case the party still gets wiped out, you will have not only one but two witches who can revive themselves and retaliate afterward (Amour and Amleth).
