In MementoMori, pure strength isn't everything, but it can be the difference between defeating a boss and tasting defeat. Learn more about how you can make your characters stronger and how to get the resources needed for the upgrade.

How to Make Your Characters Stronger

Level Up Characters

Level Characters

Leveling up your characters is the most straightforward approach to empower them. This will boost their stats and make them more powerful in battle. EXP orbs and gold are required to level up your characters. The first level requires 20 Gold and 80 EXP orbs, which will rise proportionately to the level.

Every 20 levels, you'll need Kindling Orbs to raise the maximum level, and these will likely be the biggest hurdle for leveling your characters, so be sure to save up.

You can obtain resources for leveling up your characters by defeating bosses, completing quests, participating in events, and claiming rewards from the Quest screen. In addition, shops will often have these resources for sale.

Use the Awaken Feature

Awaken Characters

The Awaken Feature is among the best ways to boost the rarity of your characters directly. This is difficult because players will need a replica of your character to awaken them. Players also need 8 copies of the same character to bring to LR and 20 copies to bring it up to LR+5.

For Chaos and Radiance characters, it will be 14 copies to bring it up to LR and 26 copies up to LR+5. Chaos and Radiance characters are usually available on time-limited banners as well, so it's recommended that F2P players refrain from investing heavily in these characters.

Pulling for Character Copies

MementoMori - Prayer of The Cursed
Prayer of The Cursed

Please remember that Prayer of the Cursed has no guarantees that you will get your desired characters. You may only get one SR character promised every ten summons for the first time.

On the other hand, Prayer of the Fleeting or Invocation of Chance are gacha banners where you are guaranteed one copy of the rate-up character/focus character every 100/70 pulls respectively. As a result of awakening, a character's base stats improve along with their rarity.

Buying Witch's Shards and Witch's Letters on Shops

Players can buy Witch's Shards in the Shop using Character and Space-Time coins, which you can get by releasing N rarity units or defeating enemies in the Cave of Space-Time, respectively. Alternatively, you can pull for character replicas from Invoke.

You can also get Witch's Letter or Witch's Invitation as a bonus item when you pull from the character gacha banners.

Equip with Better Gear

Equip Gears

Providing your characters with superior equipment is another method to make them stronger. You can acquire gears by completing tasks, participating in events, and eliminating opponents. You can upgrade the gear to increase the effectiveness of your equipment even further. In MementoMori, you can equip six separate gears.

The following gear has designated stats that it boosts: Weapon (ATK), Chest Armor (M.DEF), Helmet (P.DEF), Accessories (Debuff RES), Gloves (DEF), and Boots (DEF). The left side gears are utilized for offense, while the right side gears are used for defense.

Aside from donning the gears, You can insert up to 4 Runes of varying status effects that can aid the character depending on the type of character. You can also upgrade and augment gears to increase the buff effect.

Later in the game, you can reforge and enhance your weapons. Strengthening your characters at the end of the game will be essential. Upgrading and augmenting from the beginning is alright because those can carry over to new equipment. Still, we recommend putting off reforging as it resets whenever you equip a different item and doesn't carry over.
