| Character | Tier Placement Explanation |
|---|---|
Florence
|
• Capable of inflicting massive critical damage on multiple opponents. • If she lands a critical hit, she does more attacks and increases her hit count. Great for smashing through stages with enemies like Soltina. • Harder to get Florence copies compared to Cordie (not available in the Space-Time Shop). |
Cordie
|
• Hits hard and will most likely strike first in battle due to high SPD. • Easy and cheap to level up and strenthen. Likewise, her duplicates can be easily bought from the Space-Time Shop. • Will have trouble in stages that feature enemies like Soltina—her low hit count makes it difficult to get through multi-barriers like Soltina's. |

Primavera
|
• A good single-target offensive unit that eventually becomes a smaller-scale AoE attacker. • She can decrease her enemies' DEF by 20%, making them take more damage. • She also has her own ATK self-buffs courtesy of her second passive skill. |
Amleth
|
• Has decent DPS and AoE attacks courtesy of her first two skills. • Gets higher ATK the less HP she has. • Unlocking her second passive skill lets her survive with 1 HP and become invulnerable for up to 3 turns. |

Mimi
|
• Has the potential to be a decent DPS with her skillset. Her first skill increases her attacks with every enemy she defeats, while her second skill lets her deal higher damage along with her buffs. • Difficult to trigger her first passive skill which she will rely on to boost her ATK by up to 80%. • She's much better used as a support unit due to her Resonance skill. |
Rean
|
• ATK stat grows with each critical hit she makes using her first skill, and does additional attacks when she defeats an enemy using her second skill. • Second passive skill rarely works, which is supposed to raise her CRIT rate if her HP goes below 50%. This rarely happens because she will most likely die from an enemy's one-hit. |
Sabrina
|
• Can be an alright DPS up to a certain point. Her first skill deals critical hits; if she scores a critical hit the first time, while increasing her survivability by raising her DEF. • Offers very little utility. Her first skill can be considered as the only impactful asset in her skillset. |

Hathor
|
• Relatively high single-target damage using her first skill, while increasing the survivability of your team by potentially halving the enemy's ATK by 50% for 2 turns. • Difficult to operate as DPS. Half the skills that enables her to be a viable DPS are difficult to trigger as it requires her to not take damage until the third turn. |
Nina
|
• Her high EVD and ability to remove buffs from enemies make her a great budget unit in PvP, but she is mainly used for chipping away at the enemy rather than as a DPS. • Cannot reliably do damage (DPS) in PvE. |
Lunalynn
|
• Her damage and hit count are mediocre when used as a DPS. Much greater use as a support unit. • She also has the same problem as Natasha where her power falls off over time due to how hard it is to get copies of her without Diamonds. |
Olivia
|
• Not meant to be used as a DPS. Her first active skill doesn't even deal damage. |
Tropon
|
• Becomes slightly a liability as she's required to survive long in a battle for her skills to be impactful. Her first skill requires being used repeatedly after cooling down, while her second passive skill only works if she gets hit. • Could be more useful as a flex-support since she can "steal" buffs like Nina. |
Mertillier
|
• Designed more as a support unit than a DPS. Her first skill does AoE damage, while her second skill deals no damage at all. |
Merlyn
|
• Like Mertillier, she's designed as a support unit rather than an offensive one. Shines much better when used for her intended purpose. |
Dian
|
• Dian trades her own HP for damage with her second skill. But in the early game, where your units will have low health pools, there's not much that her skill can scale damage off of. • There's considerable probability that using her impactful skills will make her die faster in battle, plus her Regeneration is too slow to recover the lost damage. • Better used as a Support instead of being the DPS. |
Amour
|
• Her attacks have low hit count and don't deal as much damage as other characters who can act as DPS. • Better suited as a flex-support unit with her ability to tank enemy hits and Blight debuff. • Has an attack wherein if she's defeated, she revives herself while dealing 1 attack equal to all the damage she took within the first 20 turns of the battle. |
Freesia
|
• Not known for her DPS capabilities at all, Freesia is better used as a support unit to raise your party's EVD. |
Moddey
|
• Key to her gameplay is her Poison Buff, but her Poison deals too little damage, and it will take too much time for her to actually defeat enemies through Damage Over Time. |
Fenrir
|
• Another witch designed as a support unit, Fenrir doesn't deal much damage on her own and is not a reliable carry as a result. |

Primavera
|
• Gives a 13% SPD and ATK buff to all her allies, and also has the chance to inflict Fainted (stun) on the enemy directly in front of her. • Has high base SPD which can make her a strong first-hit especially using the stun attack. |
Mimi
|
• Can extend your main DPS's damage with her Resonance ability. There's a possibility where if the enemy with the lowest DEF gets hit by an attack, the enemy with the highest DEF gets up to 80% of the damage and vice versa. |
Merlyn
|
• The best single-target support to get in the early parts of the game. • Merlyn not only raises your DPS carry's CRIT rate, but also gets rid of any debuffs they might acquire during battle. |

Lunalynn
|
• Can inflict Silence Silence prevents enemies from using their special skills on enemies if she lands a Crit. Hit. Her Silence ability is effective later on in the game once more and more witches become available, but it's not as useful in the early part of the Main Quest, as most enemies simply won't have special skills. • If you happen to get Lunalynn, keep her around for later use or when you face witches in the Main Quest and Tower of Infinity. |
Fenrir
|
• Her first skill lowers the skill cooldown of the allies next to her, which allows them to use their skills again a bit earlier in the battle than usual. This can be very useful for your main DPSes. • Can cleanse any debuffs allies may get over the course of the battle, keeping them in top form throughout. |
Mertillier
|
• Her second active skill boosts your main carry's ATK by up to 65%, making her a must-have Support. • As you progress further through the main quest, there's a bigger chance that she will be defeated before she can even use this skill. |

Nina
|
• Can "steal" an enemy's buffs using her first skill. Early on in the main quest, this won't be as useful, but may become useful to you past Chapter 9-Chapter 11 as you face more enemies with their own skills and buffs. |
Dian
|
• Increases your main DPS's survivability through her first passive skill, which raises allies' chance to evade by 30% (later 50%), but not much Support utility beyond this abilty. |
Amour
|
• Can also act as a pseudo-tank, as well as inflict Blight on enemies which prevents them from healing. • The Main Quest has a few chapters with enemies that have healing abilities, so Amour has a niche function when dealing with enemies. |
Freesia
|
• Freesia, like Dian, can raise your entire party's chance to evade an attack by up to 15% with her passive skill. But she does not offer much utility outside of this. |

Olivia
|
• Gives party-wide ATK and DEF buffs, but her buffs scale off her own ATK and DEF which may limit her usefulnes if she's not powerful enough. • In the early part of the game, her buffs won't be impactful since she has low stats. • Compared to other units, she requires much investment like Runes and gear to make her powerful. |
Hathor
|
• Has a potential use later on in late-game PvP since she can halve an enemy's ATK stat, lowering the damage your team will get. • However in the early game, there's not much reason to reroll for her. |
Tropon
|
• Has the ability to "steal" buffs, but her buff-steal skill is contingent on her taking a hit first, which poses risks for her survivability. |
Sabrina
|
• She can lower the SPD of her targets, so your team has a bigger chance to attacking first. However, this has limited use as it's generally recommended to buff SPD in most cases. |
Moddey
|
• Moddey's Poison debuff deals low damage. Though she can prevent her enemies from healing with her Blight debuff, Amour can do the same and has better utility. |
Amleth
|
• Amleth can act as a flex-tank for your party, similar to Soltina, though she offers little utility and isn't able to do much aside from this. She's a better offensive unit than a support unit. |
Cordie
|
• Only becomes a bona fide support unit once she gets her unique weapon, Jack and Pot. Otherwise, she has no notable support abilities to speak of. |
Florence
|
• No support abilities to speak of. |
Rean
|
• No notable support abilities to speak of. |
| Criteria Explanation |
|---|
When you reroll in MementoMori, you will most likely have between 1-4 Standard SR characters that which may or may not have duplicates.
With availability of duplicates in mind, consideration is put towards the ease in getting more character duplicates without using Diamonds, especially for new players.
Furthermore, the characters are ranked under the assumption that they will be used at base rarity (SR) without their Unique Weapon, while also taking into account how much damage and utility they offer in their roles.
![]() |
These characters offer top-tier damage or utility right from the early game, even without duplicates. They perform extremely well in the early stages of the game without needing their unique weapon, making them excellent choices for new accounts and rerolling. |
|---|---|
![]() |
A tier characters are alright options for DPS or support roles. They're good to go at one copy, though they don't offer as good utility or deal as much damage as S-tier units, and can carry you in the game until you get S-tier units. |
![]() |
These units are sub-optimal to have as DPSes or Support units, though they do have their niche uses in the early game. Some of them may even become more useful later on, but not when a player is starting out. |
![]() |
C tier units are either not as useful as they should be at base rarity or simply do not address the needs of a new player (more damage and substantial buffs/debuffs) in the early game. A unit's placement at C tier however, does not mean they're bad units overall; a new player simply does not need them as much as other characters while rerolling. |
| Role | Function |
|---|---|
| Main DPS | • The main carry of the party and is expected to deal the most damage. • Most teams are created around supporting this character/these characters in some way. • In early-game PvE, most teams will only have one Main DPS because of the scarcity of leveling materials and/or duplicates. |
| Support | • A character that is supposed to support the main DPS/secondary DPSs by giving them buffs, inflicting debuffs on the enemy, protecting the DPSes from damage, etc. |
