How to Use Red Balloon
Saves You Automatically When Falling Off A Cliff
The Red Balloon is a single-use consumable that kicks in automatically when you fall off an edge or into a bottomless pit, saving you from a Game Over.
You can carry up to 99 Red Balloons at once, so stock up and float your way to safety.
How to Get Red Balloon
Purchase in Stuff Shops
You can purchase Red Balloon for 50 Gold in Stuff Shops scattered across all islands.
These shops sell a variety of useful items like consumables and maps so be sure to check in whenever you find one during your adventure!
Found in the Overworld
A Red Balloon may also be found by breaking objects scattered around the overworld.
Smash crates or other destructible items to uncover extra consumables you can use on your adventure. It’s a great way to grab free items without spending gold at Stuff Shops.

Design Changes Upon 100% Completion
Upon 100% completion, the design of the Red Balloon will be based off Donkey Kong's face versus its clean and standard design. This balloon design is a reference to the 1-Up Balloons found in Donkey Kong Country.
To double check if your balloon's design changed, open up Photo Mode as you use a Red Balloon and rotate the camera at an angle where the balloon's face is visible.
