In the final area of the main route in Sands (Night), you can find several Onix sleeping on the sand. Take a close-up photo of one of the sleeping Onix to get a 1 Star photo.

You can get a 2 Star photo of Onix by playing the Melody near one of the sleeping Onix in the final area of the main route in Sands (Night). After playing the Melody, take a photo immediately as Onix opens its eyes and wakes up from its slumber.

After taking the alternate route in Sands (Day) at Research Level 2 or higher, you can find several Onix jumping around at the final area of the course. Take a photo of one of the jumping Onix to get a 3 Star photo.

To take a 4 Star photo of Onix, you need to follow the steps to completing the Onix's Mighty Leap request and take a photo of Onix as it jumps in the air behind the three Mandibuzz.
