Best Beginner Team
Overview
Since players are starting out during these early parts of the game, there will be two types of teams recommended per chapter section namely, Minimum and Optimum. These teams consist of more accessible lower rarity characters and higher rarity characters that become available as you progress throughout the game.
Chapter 1- 5

A team composed of characters like Illya, Iris, Rean, Cherna, and Rosalie can perform well and carry you throughout the early quest chapters 1-5. You may expect to get an Illya, Iris, Rosalie, and Cherna early on in the game or from early Invokes.
Up to Chapter 5, this team comp can get you by and is good to play. However, it's recommend that you do not invest so heavily in these party members. While a team with an Illya, Iris, and Rean can help you defeat bosses until Chapter 5, they have less potential compared to other units.

Generally, it's recommended to get higher rarity units like Cordie, Merlyn, Primavera, and Mertillier among others because they are more powerful and more reliable in the long run.
Amleth and Rean can be interchanged as attackers, depending on the situation and enemy team comp. Rean is a Crit-based Attacker who can Self-Sustain, while Amleth is an Attacker whose damage scales according to her HP and is boosted when her DEF is increased.

Starting from Chapter 6 up to Chapter 14, the ideal units to get are Cordie, Merlyn, Florence, Primavera, Mimi, and Dian among others.
Other units recommended to have on your team are Mertillier, Soltina, Olivia, and Amour. All the characters mentioned in this section are considered absolute must-haves at this stage of the game due to their high potential, utility, and ability.

NinaDuring these early parts, you can complete quests and battles with a team composed of lower rarity units like Illya and Soteira but they provide less utility in the long run compared to other Support units, so avoid investing so much in upgrading them as well.
Prioritize getting stronger units like Primavera, Merlyn, Mimi, Dian, or Soltina to support your Florence or Cordie who serve as your main Attacker/DPS.

In general for beginners, it's good to have an Attacker/DPS who deals significant damage while being tanky or self-sustaining. Prioritize getting Attackers/DPS like Cordie or Florence as they are good carries, powerful, easy to upgrade, and accessible.
Highly valuable Supports or hybrid units best to get in the early game include Merlyn, Primavera, and Mimi, as well as Dian, Amour, and Soltina. Get Support units who have abilities that boost the overal potential of the team, particularly the Attacker. Get supports that can boost Crit. Hit Chance, stun enemies, provide ATK and SPD buffs, and other similar utilities.

Copies of some of the best beginner team members like Cordie, Merlyn, Amleth, Amour, and Freesia can be obtained at the Space-Time Shop using Space-Time Coins. You can use copies to Awaken your character and make them stronger.
To get Space-Time Coins, you must clear stages in the Cave of Space-Time and get them as rewards. A character copy can cost around 120,000 Space-Time Coins, and it's recommended to prioritize getting copies of Cordie and Merlyn to start and build your team around.
