Prioritize upgrading your character's rarity, runes, and gear, and give them unique weapons and gear sets in MementoMori. Read on to see what upgrades to do first and which characters to upgrade first.

The first upgrade your character should get is their rarity, and this can be done by Awakening them.
Your team's DPS should be awakened to at least LR Rarity while your team's supports should only be awakened if their buffs, debuffs, shields, and ranking rely on their stats. Otherwise, they're perfectly usable even at just one copy.

Next, you should start buying runes for your character's gear to further raise their stats.
Of all the runes, we recommend prioritizing the PM. DEF Break and SPD runes of your team's main damage dealer to allow them to bypass enemy defeses and improve their probability of moving first.
Supports, on the other hand, could also use SPD runes so long as the team will benefit from them moving first to buff, debuff, or tank hits. You could also give your debuffers the Debuff ACC runes.
PM. DEF Break and SPD runes can only be bought from the Runes Shop using Rune Tickets, making them harder to obtain. Make sure that you make the most out of your Rune Tickets by only buying PM. DEF Break and SPD runes.
How to Collect and Use Rune Tickets

Next, you'll want to equip your team with their Unique Weapons.
When equipped, these weapons boost your characters' stats and enhance their skill set by giving them additional perks.
That said, not all witches need their unique weapons. Before you make a decision to invest on a character's Unique Weapon, make sure to read its skill effects first and then decide whether they'll useful for the role you are using the witch for.
| Satan Gear Set Bonuses | Michael Gear Set Bonuses | Metatron Gear Set Bonuses |
|---|---|---|
| 2 pcs HP 25% |
2 pcs ATK 16% |
★ 2 pcs DEF Break 7,000 |
| ★ 4 pcs ATK 16% |
4 pcs STA 20% |
4 pcs STA 30% |
| 6 pcs 4,000 DEF Break |
6 pcs 5,000 DEF Break |
6 pcs ATK 20% |
★ - Recommended low-cost gear set combination.
The next thing you want to equip your team with is a gear set. These pieces of gear, when equipped in 2s, 4s, and 6s give certain bonuses that make your witches stronger.
The strongest of these gear sets is the Metatron Set. However, it's a lot harder to get compared to the lower-tier ones.
Because of this, we recommend starting out with a lower-tier set first while working towards the Metatron Set. Try to mix and match the gear in each set as you see fit, and remember to aim towards the bonuses they give.
Which Gacha Gear Set Should You Build?

Next, you can start augmenting your character's gear.
Focus on augmenting the dark level of your main damage dealers' chest armor, gloves, and weapon first, as they boost key offensive stats.
On the other hand, it's a good idea to give your supports HP and HP Drain augments.

Next, prioritize upgrading your team's Boots and Gloves for increased DEF, and Weapons for a higher ATK if the unit is an attacker.
You can also upgrade your witch’s Helm and Chest Armor for a better P. DEF and M. DEF, but do it for your most important witches first.

Finally, you should reforge your completed gear sets.
Reforging gear raises the gear piece's buffs for the character's potentials. However, make sure to only do it after the gear set is final because reforged stats disappear when you upgrade your character's gear.
Since reforging gear can cost Diamonds, leave it for last and only when your character has a set of gear you know they will be using for a long time.
Prioritize upgrading your main DPS carry before your other witches, especially in the early game when resources are extra scarce. Not only does your DPS affect your progression the most, but it also decides whether you will win in PvP or not.
The only exceptions are when you need to upgrade certain aspects of units that are supporting your DPS.
Later on, when you start dabbling in PvP and have more resources, maybe then you can start funneling resources toward upgrading your support units. But always make sure your main DPSs are upgraded first.
