A Troubled Past

Hated by her parents, Myrlennia's childhood was difficult for her to navigate. Her only reprieve from the frequent insults and reprimands hurled at her by her parents were the "fairies", tiny lights visible only to Myrlennia.

Eventually, she would find herself in an orphanage, stripped of all confidence and belief in herself. Unknown to her, however, was that she had a gift that was rare and had great potential.

Light in the Darkness

Myrlennia soon met someone who recognized her gift, Guinevere. She took Myrlennia under her wing and, for the first time in Myrlennia's life, she felt relief. She felt relief that someone had not only accepted her for who she was, but also because she felt the gentleness she longed for all this time.

Journey with the Hero of the Staff

She trained hard and soon went on an adventure to save the world with Guinevere and her friends. They travelled through "doors" to save not only their world, but different ones with different time periods as well.

Myrlennia still had doubts about herself, but she enjoyed the company of her friends. One day, however, the party would fall into crisis.

Elaine's Betrayal

Elaine, the nun in Myrlennia's party, killed the Hero of the Staff and let the party fall through a broken "door" into an endless abyss. Myrlennia steeled herself and acted quickly.

Even if the fear of failure was holding her down. Even if her lack of confidence weighed on her. The thought of not seeing Guinevere again was too much for her to handle. At that moment, all of the fairies flew towards the others, bringing them to different worlds.

In a New World with no Guiding Light

Before being taken to another world, Myrlennia had one last conversation with Elaine. She tried to get her to explain herself or apologize for what she did, but the nun remained cryptic in her answers.

She only said that she did this to save the Hero of the Staff, and she asked to be taken to "Paradise." In the end, Elaine escaped into "Paradise" and Myrlennia was left in a new world.

This time, however, she had no fairies to help her. She did not have Guinevere to help her. She wailed for Guinevere to save her after she realized the only gift she was given was now taken away.

Chapter 1

Chapter 1
"You useless, no-good waste of space!" Ever since I was little, getting yelled at by my parents was just another part of my day. But then again, why wouldn't they? Anything I tried to do would always end in failure, and I caused nothing but trouble. "Damn it, damn it all! I break my back climbing the ranks to High Priest, and now it's all been for nothing thanks to this brat!" In times like these, I would play with the "fairies." They were tiny lights that only I could see. And whenever I made a wish, they'd twinkle brightly, or happily flutter around me. That's how I'd spend most of my days— playing alone in the corner of my room. "There you go again, muttering to yourself like a creep! All of our troubles are 'cause of crap like that! Do you get me, you demon-possessed freak?! I hope you do, 'cause you're better off dead!!" The fairies were my only friends, and they were the only ones who were ever kind to me.

It wasn't long after I was brought to live at an orphanage. I was told I could start fresh, build a new life here... But, as long as I could continue to play with my fairies... "Hi there! And what are you up to?" "Eep! I-I-I'm so sorry...! I won't talk to myself again, so please...don't hurt me...!" "...No, no, it's okay. I just wanted to say, you can see them too, huh?" "..! You...can see the fairies too?" "The most I can manage to do is sense their presence. I was told even being able to do that much is a rarity... But, for you to be able to see angels' lights so clearly..." She knelt down to look at me face-to-face, gently wiping away my tears. "You've got quite the gift."

She knelt down to look at me face-to-face, gently wiping away my tears.

"You've got quite the gift."

The fairies were my only light in the darkness... and they'd heal each and every one of my wounds... When I showed my fairies to that lady, Guinevere, she couldn't believe her eyes. "You're able to control them so easily... Myrlennia, you're incredible...!" "I-I've been playing with these fairies ever since I was little... so really, this is all I've got... But, being able to do that's just creepy, isn't it...?" "I see... You've had such a gift all along, but no one's ever seen your potential, have they?" "Huh...?" "Myrlennia, you really do have a gift. And no, it's not creepy or weird in the slightest. With your gift, you can achieve anything you put your mind to. Your parents couldn't see that, but I'll tell you just how amazing you are!" Saying that, Guinevere pulled me into a warm hug... "From here on out, we're family. Okay?" "...I-l'd always been told... that I'm completely useless, that I can't do anything right... I was only ever yelled at... that I was better off dead... over and over again..!" "I know, let it out. You're okay. I won't let anyone scold you ever again." That day, I cried and cried for what felt like forever, all while gently nestled in Guinevere's arms.

"...I-l'd always been told... that I'm completely useless, that I can't do anything right... I was only ever yelled at... that I was better off dead... over and over again..!"

"I know, let it out. You're okay. I won't let anyone scold you ever again."

That day, I cried and cried for what felt like forever, all while gently nestled in Guinevere's arms.

And we all fell through a broken "door," into an endless abyss...

I-I knew I had to save everyone who fell into the abyss... but just the thought of messing everything up again made me freeze in fear... After meeting the others, every day I spent with them was so much fun. I even started to smile, just a little... I thought that maybe, just maybe, I was finally starting to be useful, but... Why am I... so useless...? At this rate, everyone's going to die... Then, I'd never be able to see Guinevere again...! No... No, no, no! I can't let that happen! For once... just this once, I can't run away..! If I didn't do something now, this would be it for all of us! I-I know I'm a worthless good-for-nothing, but... Guinevere told me, didn't she- that I had a gift! That I could do anything I put my mind to! "That's why... I can do this!!" At the very moment, something hot welled up within my chest and all of the fairies flew towards the others. Then... "I knew it. I figured if anyone could do it, it'd be you, Myrlennia." There she was behind me... The one who betraed us all... Elaine...

I-I know I'm a worthless good-for-nothing, but... Guinevere told me, didn't she- that I had a gift! That I could do anything I put my mind to!

"That's why... I can do this!!"

At the very moment, something hot welled up within my chest and all of the fairies flew towards the others. Then...

"I knew it. I figured if anyone could do it, it'd be you, Myrlennia."

There she was behind me... The one who betraed us all... Elaine...

"Elaine, you were the one behind all this...?" I-I was too scared to ask, but I had to... "Just breaking apart our bonds wouldn't have been enough to break the 'door.' Unless... someone destroyed it themselves..." " I did it all to save the Hero of the Staff." "I-I don't really get what you're saying, but... if you go apologize to everyone now, maybe... Eeep!" E-Elaine's fingers delved deep into my chest... as if trying t ograb something... inside me...! Ah...! " Who... no, what... did you contract with, Elaine...?" Elaine had chased after Solomon by herself. At that time, maybe she...? "Heh. That fool has nothing to do with anything. I've always had this power. As she seized my soul, her gentle whisper sent shivers down my spine. "I have a favor to ask of you. Would you take me to 'Paradise?'"

"Elaine, you were the one behind all this...?"

I-I was too scared to ask, but I had to...

And now, I find myself in a strange, unfamiliar world too... Hehehe. I've got to find the others as soon as I can... ...W-Wait a minute. I don't see a single fairy anywhere... Why...? ...Hehe. Ehehe... Having the fairies around to help was all I had going for me, and now taht even they're gone... Ehe. Ehehe... I really do... have no purpose now... Hgh! What do I do now...? Help me... Guinevere, wherever you are, please... help meee...!
