Looking for the best buffers, debuffers, and healers in MementoMori? Read our tier list to find out how useful the supporting characters are, and the reasons they're on the list.
List of Contents
Most of the characters in MementoMori have very specific uses for the different situations that the game throws at its players. Though we have ranked characters according to what we think gives the most utility, even a character ranked lower on our list may be the most useful character to use in a given scenario.
Still, the characters listed here have been sorted in order of how useful their support abilities are, and how those abilities can synergize with other witches that act as attackers or tanks.
Best characters that give the highest utility and can generally help you clear most quests in the game's main campaign with little to no trouble. | |
Characters that offer a high degree of utility, although are more situational than SS-tier characters or there are flaws in their skills that make them less useful by comparison. | |
Slightly lower utility than the higher tiers, but are still decent characters with useful skills. May also be useful up to the mid-game and even beyond. | |
Average utility, but some characters do what they do better. |
Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
Sivi | • Sivi's value as a support witch (despite being an attacker in her own right) is her ability to give her massive damage buffs to two of her slowest allies. With the right team composition and speed-tuning, you can have a powerful team in PvE and a decent performance in PvP as well with her in your party. |
Primavera | • Has good ATK and SPD buffs for all party members, as well as debuff options in the form of preventing her enemies from getting their own buffs. These come at a relatively low investment cost. • She can also inflict the Faint debuff on enemies, which opens them up to damage from your main Attackers. |
Cordie | • Though she's primarily an attacker, Cordie can become a good debuffer once you get her unique weapon, Jack & Pot. Its skill effect decreases her enemies' DEF by a whopping 80%, which will let your main attacker tear them to shreds. |
Merlyn | • Merlyn's passive skill, Apprentice Wanted!, is a great buff for Attackers. If you must have a support character, make sure to get Merlyn. • She also has rudimentary healing abilities with her Master and Apprentice skills, which can be useful in the early game. • Lastly, Merlyn is easy to level up because her shards are available in the Cave of Space-Time shop. If you clear the Cave of Space-Time consistently, you're guaranteed one copy of Merlyn per month. |
Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
Summer Cordie | • Summer Cordie is good to bring along because of the ACC buff she has for your main attacker, specifically when you're faced against another opponent that relies on EVD to avoid damage. |
Summer Sabrina | • Summer Sabrina has a good debuffer kit in her 2-turn Faint as well as her ability to dispel enemy buffs (though the latter debuff does rely on her dealing four critical hits first before it activates). |
Artie | • Artie is useful to pair with magic-based attackers, since her debuff lowers an enemy's M. DEF, making them more vulnerable to attackers like Rusalka. |
Stella | • As long as Stella has a higher STR than her opponent, she can inflict Silence on two enemies with the lowest HP, preventing them from using their special skills. |
Chiffon | • Good DEF buffs, as well as a Shield equal to 100% of her ATK stat for all allies (though she'll need decent gear). Chiffon also comes with a second active skill that can heal your allies. |
Lunalynn | • Lunalynn is a good debuffer who can inflict both Silence and Poison on her enemies. She also decreases their P. DEF, making them more vulnerable to attackers. • Her Frozen Heart passive skill also makes her a bit tanky with how it cuts damage and increases her HP drain. |
Carol | • If you need someone who gives good DEF buffs, on top of inflicting Silence as well as buff dispels, then Carol is a good unit to have. Her second active skill is especially good since it dispels buffs from three random enemies. If they don't have a buff, they get a 40% DEF debuff instead. |
Mimi | • Mimi can greatly extend the damage potential of your attackers with the |
Mertillier | • Her main use is to boost your main attacker's ATK stat with her skill 'Maintenance' which not only decreases their skill cooldown but increases their ATK stat for 3 turns. • She can also act as a pseudo-tank with her self-heal, Shield, and Debuff RES-related skills. |
Dian | • Dian's usefulness as a buffer lies in her ability to raise her own EVD alongside that of your main attacker (or whoever else has a high ATK stat), |
Fenrir | • Fenrir is great as both a healer and someone who can speed up your characters' skill cooldowns. Bring her along if you want your main attacker's skills firing off as fast as possible. |
Soltina | • Soltina is a great debuffer who can inflict either Faint or Sleep on her enemies, while also acting as a tank that can withstand a lot of damage as well as debuffs. |
Winter Amour | • Soltina is a great debuffer who can inflict either Faint or Sleep on her enemies, while also acting as a tank that can withstand a lot of damage as well as debuffs. |
Yuni | • A healer and a debuff cleanser all in one, Yuni makes sure that your main attacker lives for as long as possible by increasing their max HP, as well as the max HP of the ally with the ally with the lowest remaining HP. |
Milla | • Her passive skill "No Starving Allowed" boosts the HP of Emerald Soul allies equivalent to her ATK, making her a great support unit for witches like Fia. If she's not paired with Emerald witches, she can still give your team a nice HP boost. |

Summer Moddey | • This iteration of Moddey can be better than the original Moddey because of not only her Poison debuffs, but because of her potential to deal a lot of damage in PvE because of how her damage scales with how many enemies she's poisoned. However, by itself, her Poison debuff doesn't really do much, so she's only good to have in your team if you have a spot to fill. |
Richesse | • Richesse is a relatively niche support since she's designed to be more effective in teams with slow attackers. She gives them a Shield as well as Debuff RES and DEF buffs. That's on top of being able to inflict Silence. Though Richesse has a niche, she's very good at that niche. |
Priscilla | • If healing was more potent in MementoMori, Priscilla would be one of the best healers in the game not only because of her healing abilities. |
Veela | • Can debuff both an enemy's SPD and ATK, though it would be better |
Olivia | • A great all-around buffer who can boost her allies' ATK and DEF stats, as well as the CRIT damage of your party's main attacker (provided that she's able to kill an enemy herself). • She has a Shield ability that increases your party's survivability and can also debuff enemies who give her a critical attack (provided that she survives). |
Hathor | • Hathor's skill, Dance of the Butterflies, cuts the ATK of 2 enemies by 50%. That means having her along can help your party survive what would normally be a party-wiping hit. • Her passives rarely work, though, which limits her usefulness. |
Tropon | • As a support unit, Tropon can successfully dispel and copy buffs that the enemy has granted to themselves. |
Amour | • Amour would be more valuable as a Tank, though if you're facing off against enemies that rely on healing in PvE, she could be useful to have for her Blight debuff. Blight makes enemies immune to healing. |
Winter Tropon | • Has a great ability to steal both an enemy's ATK and DEF, as well as a 20% chance to inflict Faint on 5 enemies at once. However, other units can debuff both an enemy's ATK and DEF as well as inflict Faint without having to go out of your way to get her. |
Gil’uial | • Can dispel 1 buff belonging to 2 of the enemies with the highest ATK, as well as a chance to inflict Silence if she has a higher MAG stat than them. |
Eir | • Used to target the strongest enemy in the opposing party by positioning her in front of them and having her use her Sleep debuff as well as her ability to make the enemy more vulnerable to critical hits. |
Apostle Rosalie | • Gives the two allies next to her shields as well as decreases their skill cooldown once she has enough stacks of her [Memory] debuff, though she can only do the skill cooldown for one time only. |
Kaguya | • Buffs her allies' CRIT chance and the damage their critical hits make with her first active skill. • Her second passive skill can potentially blunt enemy attacks if she gets debuffed by decreasing their PM. DEF Break by 50% and ATK by 20%. |
Aine | • Though she can decrease the CRIT of two enemies by 10% in the first turn, Aine's weakness comes with her second active skill Ayre of Eternity, which deals 3 times more damage when she isn't afflicted with [Demon's Temptation], a debuff she gets from the start of the battle and takes up to 10 turns to go away. |
Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
---|---|
Fortina | • At low levels of investment, Fortina is a lackluster unit. Even if you put in the time to build her, healing in MementoMori isn't optimal to make use of extensively. But she does give shields to all her allies for 1 turn, though she needs good gear and investment for this to be useful. |
Freesia | • Freesia is a great healer and buffer if only she's alive long enough to make those skills useful. • Her skill, Flowers of Eden, can heal allies depending on her mag, but its other multiplier is dependent on whether or not her allies are below 15% of their HP. In later stages of the game, most of the time your units will either be at full HP or defeated. |
Moddey | • Moddey would've been a great witch to use, had her skill not been dependent on how many turns she's still standing. • However, she can still inflict Poison or Blight on her enemies. If you don't have Amour, you can use Moddey in a pinch. |
