Why Can't I Use New Characters In the Battle League?

New Characters Won't Show in the Battle League if Gear Lock Is Not Updated

There may be players who can't use their newly obtained characters in the Battle League because their gear states aren't locked. Here is an easy way to fix it:

1	If you see Lock Gear: ON on the Party Formation screen, the new characters you got after locking your gear state won't show up.
2	To make your new characters appear, open the Lock Gear screen and tap Update. This will lock the gear states for all your characters, including the new ones.
3	Alternatively, you can tap Unlock to set the Party Formation screen to Lock Gear: OFF.
4	A window will appear that will confirm if you would like to unlock the gears currently unlocked. Tap Unlock. This way, you can display your new characters.

What is Gear Lock?

Allows Players to Lock the State of a Character’s Gear

Lock Gear
Gear Lock allows players to lock the state of their character's gear. By tapping the Lock Button, players can lock the current state of a character's gear for specific content, such as Battle League, Legend League, Guild Battle, or Grand Battle. You can unlock this feature after clearing Main Quest 18-24.

Only one copy of a character can have its gear locked. If you attempt to lock the gear of multiple copies of the same character, the gear of the copy with the highest BP will be locked.

Players can update or unlock their locked gear at any time. Locked gear will remain current even if you attempt to reforge or dismantle it.

What Gets Locked

When you lock a character's gear, you can preserve the following aspects:

Preserved Gear Aspects
Gear level	Gear rarity
Gear upgrade level	Gear Dark level
Gear Holy level	Gear bonus effect
Mounted runes

Game Modes with Gear Lock

League Battle / Battle League

Game Modes with Gear Lock

If you have a specific gear or rune setup for your characters in the Battle League/Legend League, it could be useful to use Gear Lock. Using Gear Lock in these game modes will only affect your PvP party, not the PvE party you use to clear the Main Quest and other PvE game modes.

Guild Battle / Grand Battle

If you have a specific gear or rune setup for characters you use in Guild Raid, or you put the gear on characters you wouldn't use in other game modes (like Luke and Mertillier), Gear Lock is also useful for Guild Battle and Grand Battle.

Please note that gear cannot be locked, unlocked, or updated during the Guild Battle and Grand Battle period (20:30 - 21:30 Server Time).
