Rin wants to be the only character on the team to be doing attacks as much as possible but she can only maximize her attacks with buffs and card cycling.
Proper setup and enough AP generators through epiphanies and card cycling will let Rin continuously get her cards to maintain her stance and launch combos after combos per turn.

Rin is a selfish stance and combo-focused DPS character that utilizes her Dark Mist stance to activate her card's secondary effects. This opens up multiple combos, especially if you have her potential 3-1 that lets you activate stance on basic attack cards.
Drawing Slash and Destruction are also great combo starters if you're outside of stance, which lets you re-enter the stance on 0 cost, allowing you to use 3 offensive cards after. You'll also ideally want to get divine epiphanies that reduce card cost to 0 or gain 1 AP on use, allowing her to do her combos if you're playing Rin without AP generators like Mika.
You should try to duplicate both Destruction and Annihilation cards so you can extend the combo further, since Destruction lets you draw another card and restores the Dark Mist stance, creating more opportunities for additional combos.
Aim to obtain the Inner Art epiphany that upgrades it into a card you draw each turn while in the Dark Mist stance, helping reduce card rotation. Also keep Black Dance’s effect in mind, where it gains more damage the more skill cards you have, making it ideal to use as one of your opening moves to capitalize on the skill cards in your hand.

Overall, your goal is to get Rin's card into your hand, which can be done by exhausting unwanted cards, card draws, and shuffling the discard pile back to the draw pile.
For Veronica, your main goal is to capitalize on her non-attack card cycling abilities, such as Repose and Sir Kowalski. You should aim to obtain Divine Epiphanies for them that reduce their AP cost to 0. The Pendant of Resolution allows Veronica to gain Reload stacks each time Rin or Rei uses a skill card, further boosting the damage of her Ballista cards.
Rei can do card cycling with Snack Time while also thinning out your deck, but your main goal is to provide damage buffs to Rin by providing morale and Void damage.

Scarlet
|
Passive Effect: Binding Knot - If a card used immediately before was from the assigned combatant, +15% attack card damage. Stacks up to 2 times and is removed if another combatant's card is used. When the assigned combatant uses 2 or more cards, they gain Focus. Focus: Attack card damage of the assigned combatant is increased by 20%. Remove Focus when another combatant's card is used. Ego Skill: The Path to Mastery - 250% Damage +10% assigned combatant's attack card damage per buff owned |
The best partner for Rin would be Scarlet since she benefits from Attack cards that only use one character. As long as you are solely using Rin Attack cards, you can get up to 30% Attack Card Damage to help maximize your damage output.
| Partner | Explanation |
|---|---|
Lillian
|
Lillian can increase your overall damage whenever you use cards with less than 1 cost, which is the majority of Rin's cards. |
Douglas
|
An excellent 3-star Partner that slightly increases your damage output and gives Rin an AoE damage option for its Ego Skill. |

Executioner's Tool Set Executioner's Tool Set +25% Critical Damage 2 Set |
Conqueror's Aspect Set Conqueror's Aspect Set +35% Critical Damage of 1-cost cards 4 Set |
This is our recommended set due to the multitude of 1 cost cards we use for our build.
While Drawing Slash does not benefit from the conqueror's Aspect due to its 0 cost, this set is still our most recommended to deck out once you're able to stack multiple critical strike chance to your kit.
Healer's Journey Set Healer's Journey Set +12% Max HP |
Black Wing Set Black Wing Set +12% Attack |
Seth's Scarab Set Seth's Scarab Set Increase the damage, Shield, and Healing of Basic Cards by 20% |
This is the easiest triple 2-set you can get for Rin without too much investment, as you start moving up your captain levels, which can immediately help you clear chaos content and survive high-damage Basin of Hyperspace content. However, this set falls off quickly as you'll want to optimize your stats and focus on getting critical strike chance/damage to capitalize on Rin's high-damage kit.
| Main Stats | Recommended Substats |
|---|---|
|
Ideal: Critical Chance% Desire: Void Damage% Imagination: Attack % |
・Critical Chance % ・ Critical Damage % ・ Attack ・ Attack% |
For both main stats and substats, aim for Void Damage, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and Attack. Void damage is a direct multiplier, and you'll want to prioritize Critical Strike chance as much as possible to capitalize on our critical damage sets and be our main set's damage activator.

| Weapon | Armor | Accessory |
|---|---|---|
Chimeranite Chimeranite When you Draw by an ability, +35% Damage amount to your own Attack Card(s) for 1 turn (Max 1 time per turn) |
Brainwave-Blocking Helmet Brainwave-Blocking Helmet When you Draw by an ability, +40% Fixed Shield |
Emblem of an Exceptional Entity Emblem of an Exceptional Entity +30% Damage Amount^ Stress received becomes 0 (1 for each battle) |
We highly recommend getting damage-focused equipment for Rin to help bring her closer to one-shotting enemies.
These sets can be obtained from the Laboratory 0 Chaos area, and having both Chimeranite and the Emblem of an Exceptional Entity will further enhance Rin’s statline by increasing her damage as long as you continue drawing cards. This makes it important for Veronica to have several draw cards to consistently trigger the effect. The Emblem of an Exceptional Entity is also a valuable accessory on its own, providing an additional 30% damage boost for Rin.

Before you start dealing damage, you first have to activate your Dark Cloud Stance using either Drawing Slash or Dark Mist Secret Art: Destruction as early as possible. Once the Stance is activated, any of Rin's cards that have Dark Mist Blade Art under their effects will trigger.
Do note that if you use any Attack card aside from Rin's, Dark Cloud Stance will be immediately removed and all the bonus effects from Dark Mist Blade Art will not trigger.
Most damage buffs in the game are additive to the card's total damage, such as Morale, basic damage bonus, etc. You'll want to activate buffs before starting her multi hit combos at most, as several epiphanies for her cards add additional hits, which lets Rin capitalize on these buffs multiple times with card usage.
A good example would be using Dark Mist Inner Art to retain stance, then use Rei's Predator Blade to grant 2/4 Morale depending on your Ego level. You can then follow this up with Black Dance if you have multiple skills or Annihilation to hit twice, which makes Morale provide 80/160% bonus damage on one card use.
AP generators can add more card cycles to this combo, such as following it up with Destruction into another Annihilation, which lets you hit for 6-8 times in one turn, which just highlights how valuable buffs are for Rin's total damage output.
