Rin's best build focuses on playing a discounted Annihilation and Black Dance multiple times using copies of Destruction that can redraw it to her hand. She is a selfish DPS that does not want any party members using attack cards. Inside the new chaos zone, Burning Life, Rin's party member must have Spore Harvester to gain more hits on her Black Dance card.
With the February 4 Patch, she is now best suited with the 4/2 set consisting of Orb of Inhibition for +30% additive damage when using attack cards that hit 2 or more times and Executioner's Tool for critical damage buffs.
Her favored chaos zone is Swamp of Judgment to get her best equipment such as Dagger That Tricked The Shadow for more critical damage buff. Fairy King's Crown to increase critical strike chance and Verdant Shackles for an additional attack and defense stat.

Rin's best team as of Season 2: Seed of Karmic Fire is Rei and Narja. Rei will provide additive damage buffs to Rin and card draw while Narja will discount Rin's cards for 1 turn so you can use her cards with 0 AP and also provides additive damage buffs.

Rin is a selfish stance and combo-focused DPS character that utilizes her Dark Mist stance to activate her card's secondary effects.
As of February 4 Patch, Rin's build stays the same where her entire build revolves around the Dark Mist Secret Art: Destruction epiphany that moves Annihilation and Black Dance back to your hand. The best Dark Mist Innter Art you can get for her is the upgrade epiphany so you only need to use it once and gives +50% additive damage buff.
With the recent update on December 3, 2025, Inner Art now stacks with each other so it is also viable option to duplicate because each copy will increase all of Rin's attacks by +50% and it will thin the deck as it is only a one time use upgrade card.

It is important for Rin to have the epiphany for Resonating Darkness that buffs 1 cost or below, void cards or both thanks to the new changes made on the February 4 Patch where two unique epiphany of the same card is possible. She also needs Dark Condensation that has the epiphany that buffs a specific card with +50% additive damage buff for that battle.
For Narja, her goal is to obtain at least 5 Voracity with Voluntary Control and using it with Shackles of Hunger that consumes 5 Voracity to buff the next attack card with +200% additive buff. Lastly, she must have the Bottomless Hunger epiphany that reduces the cost of two cards by 1.

The best partner for Rin would be Scarlet as she can buff Rin's damage by 30% additvely and more with a 20% multiplicative buff if Rin can use attack cards in succession without using any of your party members cards.

After the recent buff on a few 4-set memory fragments on the February 4 Patch, Orb of Inhibition boosts Rin's multi-hit attack cards by 30% additively making it her best set. Executioner's Tool helps rin deal more critical strike damage as she can hit it often.

For both main stats and substats, aim for Void Damage, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, and Attack. Void damage is a direct multiplier, and you'll want to prioritize Critical Strike chance as much as possible to capitalize on her innate critical damage buffs.
Her last potential node, which needs 600 attack, is easy to reach even without the help of Black Wings to further increase her attack. Make sure to prioritize getting more critical chance and damage instead.

Rin's best equipment as of Season 2: Seed of Karmic Fire is located in the chaos zone, Swamp of Judgment only. First, Dagger That Tricked The Shadow will increase Rin's critical damage, Fairy King's Crown for more critical chance as both of these stats Rin relies heavily and lastly Verdant Shackles for an attack and defese stat increase.
As for her refinements, the only two viable choices are 20% multiplicative buff to all attack cards and another 30% multiplicative as long as you have 18 or more cards when starting a battle which is easy to reach. You can also get the +15% Critical Chance on targets with Vulnerable but you need cards that can inflict it in this build.
Use Intellect of Discord If You Can

If possible, when you encounter Senectus and you obtained Intellect of Discord, make sure to get it and equip it on Rin as this will increase her damage further thanks to its direct buff on her attack stat.

If you aren't able to get the best, you can settle for these equipment that some can be found in any chaos zones inside shops. Obsidian Sword to boost the damage amount of her multi-hit attacks. Titan Combat Suit for a passive healing after getting hit once per turn and Amorphous Cube gives a permanent +25% additive damage to all her attacks.

Contaminated Spore Rin Combo
Rin's consistency has now been enhanced thanks to the changes with save data and the new neutral card, Spore Harvester that helps Rin guarantee at least 4 hits on her Black Dance every turn. Here are the steps to do the combo:
- For the first 1-2 turns, draw all your cards and play Rin and Rei's upgrade cards on Dark Mist Secret Art: Black Dance
- Play Spore Harvester during those turns until you have 4 Contaminated Spore in hand
- Make sure you have Bottomless Hunger, Shackles of Hunger and Voluntary Control in hand with a few Rin's cards
- Use Voluntary Control to get Voracity stacks then Shackles of Hunger to get the 200% additive buff to the next attack card
- Play Bottomless Hunger to discount Rin's attack cards, otherwise use Dark Mist Secret Art: Destruction first to draw it then use Bottomless Hunger
- Use Dark Mist Secret Art: Black Dance to deal heavy single-target multi-hit attack
Moved Discounted Cards Stay the Same Cost
You can use Narja's Bottomless Hunger to reduce the cost of Rin's attack cards to 0 AP and use it for free. You can then move it back to hand with Destruction and the cards will stay discounted for 1 turn.
Always End Turn With Two Contaminated Spores
In this build, make sure to end your turn with only two contaminated spored so that you will have enough space for the 5 cards you will draw naturally at turn start.
