Chaos Mode is the roguelike game mode in Chaos Zero Nightmare (CZN). Learn more about Chaos Manifestation and Zero System with this guide!

The Chaos Mode is the game's main gameplay that involves choosing 3 combatants to bring into a chaos manifestation world. You'll use the card sets of each combatant to form your deck and must navigate your way through that chaos zone to battle horrors, encounter events, and destroy the said chaos manifestation.

Once you enter chaos zones, your combatants will enter with their first 4 starting cards. As you go through the chaos, you'll trigger epiphanies to unlock the rest of your combatant's card during the run. Additionally, each combatant have 4 epiphany cards that may gain a new effect as you journey in your chaos zone.

After completing a run, you'll be able to obtain “save data” which consts of the combatant's current cards, epiphanies, and other cards that combatant and/or equipment has obtained during the run. This save data can then be used to tackle the game's multitude of content including simulation, challenge bosses, and other seasonal content.
However, each chaos manifestation zone have a save data limit which caps out the amount of deck modification you can do to your character's deck depending to the chaos zone's difficulty.
Saved Data and Data Value Guide
| Chaos Manifestation | Zero System |

Chaos Manifestation lets you choose one of the 5 existing chaos zones in the game. From here, you'll be able to choose one of the 6 avilable difficulties. Chaos Manifestation's 6 difficulty options do not have any modifiers and only affects the zone's enemy levels.

The Zero System is the next game mode available for Chaos Manifestations. From the Zero System, you'll be able to tackle much higher difficulty levels of chaos zones. However, the caveat is that chaos manifestation zones from the Zero System have additional modifiers that makes the run much more difficult. In exchange, the harsher the conditions and difficulty level of the chaos zone, the higher the save data value of the said planet which can let you craft the best save data you want for your combatants.
Each area has their own unique set of available Unidentified Areas, Equipment, and Enemies for you to encounter.

Upon starting the game, play through the story until you reach Chapter 1, Episode 4, which is where you first unlock The Blue Pot. Getting past this story mission will unlock Chaos Mode in your home screen.
