Cards and Epiphanies

Note: Cassius' performance significantly improves if his cards has Morale Generic/Neutral epiphanies.

Cassius's best build still focuses on generating a lot of Morale buffs for the party but due to the Season 2 Balance change, he can only provide limited stacks of Morale but he can still give a significant amount of it. His source of draw comes from Devil Dice and a few neutral cards if you can.

He is best suited with the 4/2 set consisting of Glory's Reign to provide the party a 15% multiplicative damage buff after generating or exhausting skill cards and Tetra's Authority to get more defense stat for more healing.

His favored chaos zone is Burning Life to get his best equipment such as Intellect of Discord for an 8% boost in the attack stat to all his allies but can only be obtained after defeating Senectus. Psionic Combat Suit to get up to 150% fixed shield when you exhaust a total of five cards and Shining World Tree Stem to enhance his healing output further and help the team.

Sereniel Ravage Team

Cassius' best team is Sereniel and Selena. This team is capable of doing high single-target damage as long as the enemies has a tenacity bar. Sereniel deals most of her damage from Homing Lasers which Cassius increases its damage with his Morale buffs while Selena's job is to restore the tenacity bar to enable the combo to repeat multiple times in one turn.

Can Fit in Any Team Comp

Cassius has the ability to draw cards and provide morale buffs alognside the Joker card which lets you choose a specific card to draw, opening up more opportunities for combos.

Cassius shines best when paired with characters that deals multi-hit attacks or uses multiple attack cards with low damage multipliers in one turn but lacks card draw and morale buffs. His ability to draw cards eases the setup for combinations, making him an ideal utility teammate for multiple builds.

After the Season 2 Balance changes, Cassius has his quest cards and all cards related to it significantly nerfed. However, he can still provide card draw and heals but is focused on a different card and playstyle instead.

For Pop Eyed Popper, he still wants the epiphany that gives you the ability to choose what quest you want so he can be versatile and pick the best quest for the team he is in. As for Devil Dice, what you want is the base or a divine epiphany that has a generic/neutral epiphany that gives 2 Morale for 1 turn to the party.

As for Dice Trick, it is best for him to have the epiphany that turns it into an upgrade card which provides the party a heal and fixed damage every quest completion. This will make him a competent healer even to endgame content as long as he can fully utilize it.

Lastly, Shuffle and Joker is best removed in this build to make deck cycling faster. You can keep Joker if you want especially if you seek a specific card for your team.

Sereniel wants her most optimal build of multiple copies of Homing Laser with the epiphany that moves it to your hand at the start of the turn and on ravage so that she can consistently get her attack cards every turn.

The next core card is Plasma Missile with the epiphany that inflicts instinct weakness and a 60% additive damage buff to all her laser cards. Lastly, is Shining Core and she must have the epiphany that creates 2 Homing Lasers after ravage so she can loop her engine without running the risk of clogging your deck.

As for Selena, her High-Power Scope and Drone Bombing must have the epiphany that lets her initiate a coordinated attack when another character uses an attack card and another one if it hits a weakness so she can deal a lot of follow-up damage when Sereniel attacks. Lastly is Tactical Maneuver with the tenacity refresh epiphany to re-enable Sereniel's lasers again.

The best partner for Cassius is Nyx as her passive allows Cassius's teammates to deal more damage when Cassius draws cards. On top of that her ego skill also synergizes with Cassius's card draws. When played as a team, this partner setup allows you to narrow down the RNG of your card pulls.

As of the Season 2 Balance changes, she also gained a passive that boosts the defense, health and heal amount of Cassius which all the stats he needs.

As of Season 2, Cassius' best memory fragment is Glory's Reign for a 15% multiplicative damage buff to his allies after exhausting or creating a skill card and Tetra's Authority for an increase on his defense stat for more healing output.

For both main stats and substats, he should aim for the HP and defense stat as possible. He can add a little of critical chance and critical damage to enhance the damage of his cards but the only goal for his stats is to reach 700 HP and everything else is a bonus.

Some of Cassius' best equipment can only be found in Burning Life with Shining World Tree Stem for a 25% multiplicative buff to all his healing. Psionic Combat Suit for a 30% fixed shield after exhausting a card up to five times. You can only obtain this equipment after reaching exploration level 30 on City of Mist.

As for her weapon slot, Tentacles of Chaos can provide allies of Cassius an 8% attack stat increase but can only be found after defeating Senectus.

As for the best refinements, the best he can get is the 15% multiplicative increase on his healing and shielding amount while the rest revolves around drawing an exhaust card at the start of battle especially if you have one for Cassius.

If you aren't able to get the best, you can settle for these equipment that can be found in any chaos zone. Crimson Sword inflicts agony after using an attack card once every turn which can enable Cursed Corpse. Titan Combat Suit provides healing after getting hit once every turn and Amorphous Cube gives a permanent +25% additive damage to all his cards.

Morale Stacking Sereniel Combo

Cassius can significantly buff the damage of characters that can multi-hit or use a lot of low damage attack cards thanks to his ability to provide Morale buffs while healing and drawing cards. This can perfectly work with characters such as Sereniel who can attack more than 10 cards per turn. Here are the steps to do this combo:

Use all the upgrade cards you can play from Sereniel, Selena and Cassius
Draw until you have High-Power Scope, Drone Bombing, Plasma Missile, Tactical Maneuver and at least 5 lasers in hand
Play High-Power Scope and Drone Bombing first then use Plasma Missile to inflict instinct weakness.
Make sure to free a lot of space in your hand, especially Cassius generated quest cards, before you start using Homing Lasers
Activate Tactical Maneuver once the enemy is ravaged then use all the moved Homing Lasers again
Continue until you run out of Tactical Maneuver to use

Potential 7 Can Only Stack 3 Times

Cassius Potential 7 Limit

After the Season 2 Balance changes, Cassius is now limited to only 3 quests per turn which limits him from providing unlimited buffs to the party. However, this still makes him a competent support because he can still provide 3 Morale and Fortitude buffs to the party.

Always Go for Full House

Chaos Zero Nightmare - Quest Cards

After his recent change, this makes the full house quest more valuable because you can easily reach its condition while giving a draw 1 card for your party unlike the other quests especially Triple 0 which does not have a draw 1 effect.
